I'm in a Grace Jones mood lately. Just bought her incredible 3 CD set of mostly hits and remixes/dubs of some songs from the Sly and Robbie period (taken from the acclaimed "Compass Point Sessions" discs. Some other songs from Grace you might know include... Famously sampled over and over again but this song stands out among her hits. These are covers but Grace makes them her own. Grace at her most pop! BTW, "Pull Up To The Bumper" had a video (a rather good one). It's basically taken from Grace's "One Man Show" show but with really incredible shots of New York City (I believe) taken from some movie. It really works. George Clinton says, "This is graffilthy!!!" And I thought the same about the lyrics you quoted in "Pull up to the bumper," which is why I quoted that particular song. | |
