Yeah I'm with you on that Gray. When Prince delivers....he REALLY delivers....and that's what I feel is going to happen. People say the same thing every time he drops an album. Especially with 3121 and Musicology, yet people still complained that the music wasn't good to them. I don't care what others think. I will continue to support him. I'm sure I'll like a lot of the tunes on the album, but even if I don't I will continue to support him. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

ONE....The Revolution was not a GREAT band, sorry they werent, even P was nowhere the musician he became TWO....Vanity,The Family,Apollonia were nothing special, stop treating these albums as if they deserve REMASTERING and EXPANDED EDITIONS. THREE...Dont compare everything new with what he did already, if you want Sign O the times again, then take your ass to the store and buy it, or throw on the iPod and get your Sign on 24/7 I'll say this, I miss The Revolution a lot more than the New Power Generation. Elements of it maybe, but his ONA band of Rhonda and John and Renato, thats just another league. Renato is one of the bet keyboard players out there today (imo). Same for John. He is an amazing drummer. That version of the NPG had studied music on a different level. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Let's not forget that when the new Prince albums come out, he will also be launching the new website, which is rumored to have a substantial video archive (both music videos and live performances) dating all the way back to Purple Rain days. So with that said, I'll be interested to see the Rick James DVD but I'm wayyyyy more excited to see what Prince has got in store for us. I can't see videos on this computer so that website don't do me any good. Even if I could see the videos, it's the stuff before "Purple Rain" that I would want to see, not after "Purple Rain". Prince became a totally different person after "Purple Rain". He was still good but not great like the years before. Andy is a four letter word.

There was also The Isley Brothers, Con Funk Shun, Xavier, Sunrize, D Train, The Gap Band, One Way, Rafael Cameron, Ebonee Webb, Lakeside, New Horizons, Bootsy Collins, Bill Summers and Summers Heat, Sun, Starpoint, Kleeer, Slave, Ray Parker, Jr. and Raydio, Fatback, War, Junior, Glass, Bobby Nunn, etc. People who really weren't into funk during the early 80s tend to only know funk that the critics have talked about for years which is usually groups from the early to mid 70s with all the horns such as James Brown or Parliament that have talked about to death. They don't realize that funk progressed, modernized it's sound, and continued on until around 1984. Then there are people who claim to like funk but weren't really into it back then or a lot of the younger people. They hear that extreme uptempo funk of the early 80s with that modern sound and less horns and confuse it with disco. I can't tell you how many stupid DJs I have heard say that "You Dropped A Bomb On Me" was released in 1979. . . . [Edited 3/12/09 8:28am] Those DJs were f***ing idiots for thinking that!

That's the same station that thought Shitney Houston originally recorded "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" before Robert Palmer did his version, they used to slip in early 80s songs like "You Dropped A Bomb On Me", "Fantastic Voyage", and "Super Freak" on Saturday nights when they used to play all disco, and they used to pronounce Chic as "Chick". Hell, it's Clear Channel. It's not like they actually know music. All they know is business. Andy is a four letter word.

I know that some Clear Channel stations have syndicated jocks from Chicago in different markets. In my hometown, they have jocks that say the same stupid things, but they are out of Chicago and there is no way to call them on it. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Also, why would he do all of the last minute distribution deals with Sony? It's like he didn't have much time to come up on how to promote the album. I think he was offered the money for the O2 shows and the Mail on Sunday money and he decided to focus on the UK. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

phunkdaddy said: I read last week's jet article feature on the MJG where are they now.
All the girls seem to be live and well. Lead singer Jo Jo tours on her own without the rest of the girls and was said to be the only girl who didn't attend rick james funeral. She admitted they fell in and out just like friends do but regretted they didn't resolve their issues before his death. Cheri left the group because of rick's drug problems. I wonder if JoJo fell out with the rest of the girls because the other girls had been touring with Val Young as lead singer for awhile before the other girls gave Val Young the boot. Strange things going on here with the girls. JoJo did fall out with the other girls but,it was before Val illegally tried to tour with the back-up girls. The others girls keep forgetting they didn't really sing on the MJG projects. What everyone heard was JoJo and the Water Sisters. Val went out trying to impersonate JoJo and with no rights to the name defrauding the public and fans with the others using JoJo's voice, name and image illegally.
