Black Music Europe and UK. In The United States we have a few genres of black music on The Urban scene. Hip Hop and R&B are pretty muc it. Religious people listen to Gospel. Dance Reggae, Electro and booty music are seen mroe on The Undergound Scene.
In Europe the situation ia highly different. WHile they listen to R&B which is called SOul in England they also listen to alotof Dance. House from what I understand is seen as part of the R&B/Soul/House scene. Hip Hop is listened to there, but nto like in The US from what I understand. While the European Hip Hop scene is centered around Germany there aren't to many UK Hip Hop artists. I;m guessing if the listen to an electronic form of Hip Hop, Techno. WHile Techno and House are very big amongst white all over Europe I can't say that it's as big among the sparse blacks on the continent. I do know that Drum'N Bass is part of the black english scene. Partly cause it comes from Reggae which is almost Europe Hip Hop. I listen to Radio 1 on Sirius. There is a black music channel in Britiain called 1 Extra, don't know what they play on it though. Anyway one of the DJs was saying that Grime is the biggest thing on The UK's urban scene. Grime for the unenlightened is a blended form of Hip Hop mixed with Dance-Drum'N Bass music and Reggae. I even understand that there's a negotiable ELectro and DIaco scene in The British Ilse. We have black music stations in the US but they hardly ever play Reggae and no Dance. I don't know, are there many R&B or Hip Hop station in Europe? Working up a purple sweat. | |
