Where Are All The Family Acts? Remember back in the day how we had a slew of musical acts such as Jackson Five, The Sylvers, DeBarge, The Pointer Sisters, The Jets, Five Starr and The Boys to name a few, how come we don't have that many on the music scene now? Do you think record companies are reluctant to sign on family acts? Or is it because there's not too many around? What are you guys' thoughts?

they're still around and teenage girls still love them. I really wish the Jonas Bros. would go away. Either that or quit singing songs with lines about how hard modesty is to find. Twits. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I remember all of these acts , so I'm feeling pretty old right about now. I also remember the BeeGees and the Osmonds. I just realized family acts are rather passe these days huh? I don't remember when it changed but I do miss them somehow

Twits. i don't understand why teenagers keep falling for these disney christian homeschooled weirdos. kids today are so conservative. I don't get it either. Ten years ago I was 14 years old, the prime target market these days for acts like the Jonas Brothers. But was my crowd into anything this conservative? Hell no! We were all about Rocky Horror (in grade 10 we did a cross-dressing RHPS theme act for the school Airband competition and came this close to being kicked out) and poking smot. At 14, having just bought the Come album, I was discovering the joys of Prince. My favourite movie was Velvet Goldmine, and we all considered a fine way to spend an afternoon was to hang out in City Park with transients. And we weren't exceptions, either. Even Backstreet Boys, my one personal cutesy pop holdout, I was so fond of because the dirt always shone through their squeaky cleaniness. I just don't get this Disney faux-virgin conservative Christian trend at all. And it goes beyond the musical acts. Even the most popular vampires these days are Mormon virgins. The most popular vamps 10 years ago were the sexual tension-filled Anne Rice characters, and Joss Whedon's vampires, who fuck everything in sight. The times, they are a-changing. Yeah, there aren't that many family acts other than the Jonas Bros and Hanson. Heck there aren't even really groups anymore let alone family acts. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
