Did anybody check him out on SNL? He honestly rocked my world...I downloaded his albums, and kick myself in the ass for not knowing about him earlier.

He didn't thrill me.

Ray LaMontagne is my absolute favorite new artist (new to me anyway). I came across his music right around the Holidays of '08 and immediately fell in love with his sound. "Let It Be Me" is my cut! That song just tears at my heart, especially the line:

"There may come a time,
You just can't seem to find your place
For every door you open,
Seems like you get two slammed in your face"
I was so excited when I saw he was to perform on Saturday Night Live, but then subsequently only wound up catching one of the songs he performed (I missed much of The Rock's performance that I had planned to catch also), but that's okay; I'll catch it on YouTube. But I'm surprised and delighted to see Ray LaMontagne mentioned here in this thread, I think he's awesome. I look forward to following his career.
