The-Dream is the-SH#T

The-Dream's new cd came out today and I am impressed. Great production and hooks. I really like this guy and how he has that MPLS sound but still a modern touch. He uses cool effects on the drum tracks like Prince used to do and he layers the synths and vocals. Lots of stuff to listen to in the headphones. Check it out...

i want to get into it but from the samples i heard the album is too slow jamzish for me. i need more upbeat tracks.

He has some interesting melodies on it and he stepped his game up on his musical arrangements but the whole CD doesn't get over about 96bpm and he uses way too many effects on shit. All those flangers and reverbs saturate the songs. At least he had "Ditch That Nigga" on his first one. There's no true fast song on this CD.
And if this fool says "Radio Killer" one more damn time...

He's not my cup of tea at all but I love Fancy. Walking on the Moon is nice too.

I know what you mean about there being too many slow jams. He's getting compared to R Kelly on this one. I do like most of it though. I still think my favorite is the single "Rockin that Shit". I really liked "Purple Kisses" and "Fast Car" from the last record. those songs were great too.

I like it but something seems awkward compared to his debut which was great if it did not include "Mama" and "Purple Kisses"
