the only song I can't stand is Pandemonium. I know everyone else loves that, I think it's a stupid pop melody. Too stupid for my taste.

Lyrically it's good, as always. Who else would put a greek phrase into a pop song?

Yeah, I love Pandemonium. Very...um, Very. My latest favorite is King of Rome. It's that classic PSB thing where the first time I heard it I thought it was the most boring thing I'd ever heard. And then the melody clicks. And then you start listening to the words. And then suddenly it's your favorite thing on the album.

After a week of listening, this album is effin' amazing. Their best since Very easily. Every day I seem to have a different song stuck in my head. In fact, I'm having a little trouble giving my full attention to LF/MPLSound because of it. biggrin

Y'know, I haven't bought an album since Dylan's Chronicles was released - that's gotta be at least five or six months ago. Music has just been dead to me lately - it's like there's a switch turned off in my head these days, because nothing excites me, there's nothing I want to hear, and nothing I hear makes me want to hear anything else.

On top of all that, I probably haven't really enjoyed a psb album since Bilingual.

But this post lifted my skirt a little bit. I'm buying this thing today.

YEAH, but don't blame us if you dislike it though!

My faves are still Love etc, Vulnerable, All Over The World, The Way It Used To be and More Than A Dream.

That's why I love it, cause the PSB do it so well. Plus it might actually reach the masses.

Oh yeah, The Way It Used to Be. When he goes into that different singing voice toward the end, it's bliss.

Damo, it's a grower. Give it a little time. At first it seemed like the last couple, just sort of "eh," but the songs on this one definitely have staying power.

See it wasn't for me at all, the first time I popped this sucker in it had me. By the sixth song I thought the rest of this cd could be total shit but this is the best thing I've heard in 2 years.

All Around the World threw me at first. My first thought was, the Nutcracker, really? But then the fact that the song's all about the global peddling of love stories sinked in, and suddenly it seems like a stroke of genius.

My favorite quote about the PSB from critic Robert Christgau:
"Calling Neil Tennant a bored wimp is like accusing Jackson Pollock of making a mess."

Still waiting for the US release (ordered it from Amazon, which I guess isn't even carrying the import or is just waiting to ship them out the same time as the US release). I'll be happy to join in when I got it so keep talking.

I've seen it on online and listened to a few tracks but want to wait for the CD for the overall experience.
