Just wanted to relay to any Badu fans out there...that she blew the roof off of the arena theater in houston this friday. Knowing that she just gave birth to her third child made the show even more amazing. She had to have her background singers remove her high heeled shoes towards then end of the show. Some highlights that I remember were: Soldier, Danger, Me, other side of the game, and I want you.

I totally forgot about this show but I just bought my tix for the Babyface show later this month...

My 'special' (and v. wealthy) friend flew me to Houston as a treat to catch Ms. Badu. She was too stylin. Body looked fly as ever. This woman is not 38 with 3 kids! She was hysterical. She told the audience to say happy birthday to her uncle who was there - before noting she had to give him the gas money to drive out from Dallas. No word on Part II. What's confusing to me is she is STILL saying (as she has been since last May) "This is going to be my new single" when she introudces Soldier. Really?!?!?

She said the thing about Soldier being her next single ('in my opinion') at this show, back in September at Austin City Limits AND back in June in San Diego. I think the time has come and passed...but why the 'i'm still gonna do 2 videos from part 1' a couple months ago too? God - it's always a half-assed operation in Badu world - part of her charm.

I'm surprised (sorta) that she didn't do "Honey". Too bad, because that was one of the very best songs to come out in '08.

@ still introducing Soldier as a single. It's a like a live rerun.

I miss her so much. Hope she comes to the East Coast soon with new material but of course I'll take her any way I can get her!
