My FAVORITE song by him. And I love that performance. U've got his incredibly cute face, beautiful voice, cool hair, and that keytar..... "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Scriptgirl, you know EL copied Prince. If you don't believe me then play Prince's Controversy Video next to this performance by EL. Put them both on mute and watch closely. Everytime I watched this video, I kept saying this looks very familiar. Desiigner "Panda" LES TWINS x YAK FILMS | Laurent ft Skitzo & Boom Squad Inglewood (part 1)

That song there sounds like it could be played on the radio today very nice tune. Well, I had a few days to listen to "It's Not Over", here goes my mini review. Bobby DeBarge, "It's Not Over" release date was Aug 1, 1995 two weeks before Mr. DeBarge died of AIDS. In the liner notes, Bobby dedicated his last album to his wife and children. He gave thanks to his former Switch band-mates, his mother, and siblings for there love, friendship, and support. Finally, he thanked his fans for there continuous support and he said in part: and my health is rather fragile it is because of you and my family that I am able to continue and see the beauty that you have given my life". It's a good solid album.. it has stood the test of time. "It's Not Over" starts off with an dance track Good Times and ends with a remix of "Good Times". In between those book ends are a mixture of ballads and uptempo songs. This album/Cd was made 14 years ago and it sounds current and fresh, still. Three stand out ballads: "Something About Your Loving", "Feel So Good",and "Like Heaven" recalls Bobby's claim to fame when he sung with Switch. Granted his voice had been compromised a bit because of illness but like all great singers he was able to find a range, sing from the heart, and in the moment. In one or two instances the lyrics for some of the ballads are lil' sappy but his music arrangements compensate for those brief lapses. "A Taste Of Your Love" was the weakest track among his 10 songs I thought, until I played it on my sound system. Just he and a Fender Rhodes, Bobby may have done this song in one take. As if giving testimony in Church, the raw emotion and vulnerability of his situation made me rethink my initial reaction... moving. Foremost Bobby DeBarge's talents for producing and arranging make this Cd solid. The uptempo songs like the title track "It's Not Over, "Thief In The Knight", "Never Meant To Hurt You" and Good Times are so smooth, beautifully arranged and with some help from his siblings, we are reminded how the DeBarge's carved out a unique sound of their own in the World of music. Bobby noted he'd hoped this project would bring his family some measure of stability for their future. Since "It's Not Over" was never released, monetary rewards he had hoped to secure for them I'm sure weren't met. Still, he left them and us a last testament of his gifts as a songwriter, producer, and singer who left this earth too soon. P.S. I've upload two more songs, check'em out. [Edited 3/7/09 13:19pm]

Oh my god! I was watching this performance on my tape last night This is my favorite Chico song! And this performance was really good! You know how you can tell when someone can sing is when they can sing well live and Chico proves that! Unfortunately, I can't say the same for a lot of these singers nowadays
