MJ leaving the UK today to go back to the States.

He is really lazy when it comes to dressing up, he's wearing the same shirt he wore to see the musical. lol

He looks good. Hopefully he keeps up the trend of stopping the disguises.

[Edited 3/8/09 12:51pm]

I think you're being unfair. Normal people don't wear different things every day too. At least not where I live. It's okay to wear your trousers for a few days, and it's even more okay to wear the same jacket and stuff as long as it's not dirty or sweaty.
It's unrealistic to think stars should never wear the same thinks twice.

anyway, he looks great, amazingly thin and his nose is different. bigger?

I didn't say there was anything wrong with wearing the same clothes again, I'm just saying he was wearing the same shirt on back to back days lol

Yeah I think he looks great too. Yeah the nose looks bigger, but I heard rumors that he wears a detachable nose tip is that true or is it tabloid bullshit???

JACKSON’S RARING TO GO SAYS CHILD STAR FRIEND

Sunday March 8,2009
By James Murray and Charlotte Heathcote

FORMER child star Mark Lester has dismissed rumours that his pal Michael Jackson may not be up to a string of comeback concerts this summer.

Mark, 49, who rose to fame in Oliver!, said: ‘‘Michael is absolutely fine and there should be no concerns over his health.

I have spent a lot of time with him while he has been over here and I can assure you he is very fit and well. He can’t wait to get back to Los Angeles to begin rehearsals.

He has been talking about doing a lot of new stuff, not music, but dance routines, so I think people will be quite surprised by his shows. He wants to pull together all the talent he can. He is raring to go.

Mark was 1 when he starred in the film of Lionel Bart’s musical film but now works as an osteopath in Gloucestershire.

When the Jackson Five visited London more than 30 years ago, the young Michael asked to meet him and they have stayed friends.

Jackson is godfather to his four children, Lucy, 17, Harriet, 15, Olivia, 13 and Felix, nine from Mark’s marriage to his first wife Jane. He later married psychiatric nurse Lisa, 35.

On Friday night the Lesters went with Jackson and his children Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, to the latest version of Oliver! in the West End, starring Rowan Atkinson, on Friday.

The 50-year-old singer was mobbed by fans, recalling his glory days before the sex abuse allegations.

We all had a fantastic time at the theatre, said Mark. Michael said Oliver! is still his favourite musical and he was singing along to some of the songs.

SEARCH UK NEWS for:

Afterwards we went backstage and met the cast, which he greatly enjoyed. He said he is really loving his time in London and is very pleased by the welcome.

My children get on very well with his and we have all been having a great time. My kids can’t wait for the concerts.

Rumours began about Jackson’s health when he was seen coming out of a clinic in Los Angeles in a wheelchair after reportedly contracting the superbug MRSA, a claim later denied by his staff.

US author Ian Halperin, who posed as a hairdresser to get close to the singer for a book to be published in the UK soon, said: When I saw him he looked frail and weak. At that time I did not think he would be able to perform an exhausting concert. It will be fascinating to see if he can get back in shape .

I think when the adrenalin starts pumping he will be OK but I don’t think the dance routines will be as spectacular in the past.

Halperin also claimed that Jackson wears a wig in public. I saw him without the wig and he has short cropped salt and pepper hair like millions of other men in their 50s, he said.

It was a bit like seeing a clown with his make up off.

When Jackson announced his This is it concerts at the 02 arena he looked his trademark self, with long thick dark hair.

Rob Hallett, president of promoters AEG Live International, said of the wig claim: I can categorically deny that. .

He also said Jacko had a full check-up to see if he was fit for the 10 live shows that will earn him £50million.

He’s fitter than I’ll ever be. His cholesterol levels, his blood, everything was perfect and we got the insurance, said Mr Hallett.

I'm not sure how to explain this right, but it's more about not liking what he has become, not what he's produced
. There isn't much truly new music to discuss, but most people agree on liking his stuff up through Thriller. I liked Dirty Diana and a couple others since then, but not enough to buy anything.

As for Madge, I've never liked 'her', but will listen to some of her music occasionally when I want to hear some dance type stuff. But there's no way that I think it's 'great', it's just silly pop.

But don't you think how one becomes can have an impact on their music? So let's say Michael becomes more superficial, more obsesse with Peter Pan and Neverland can't that reflect in the music he produces? Have you noticed once Michael officially broke away from his brothers not only did he become more like Peter Pan but so did his music? The amount of sickly, sweet "Heal The World" songs that became part of his music doubled. I mean some of the stuff that he has on his latter albums make songs like "Ben" and "Happy" sound real deep!

okay you make it sound like he has a million sappy songs, post me a lost of all his peter pan like songs for me, I think he only has a few

If Jackson were smart, he'd include his brothers and sister, cut them in for a little action, and make the O2 Arena shows a family affair. Jackson's performance with his brothers at his 30th anniversary shows at Madison Square Garden in September 2001 were the highlights of the concert.

Stay tuned...

http://www.foxnews.com/st...,00.html#1

I totally agree w/ adding his brothers to the tour. I hated when Michael performed J5/Jackson songs w/ fake Jackson/J5 backup singers. Stupid, when the really back-up is aching to perform. Also, hate when uber MJ fans act like his career started w/ Thriller (which by the way is not better than Destiny, Off the Wall or Triumph in my opinion). I would love to see a Jackson reunion; now that would be cool if they could pull it off.

you're mad because you think his fans like thriller the best, other people are mad that some of his fans like history and dangerous more than thriller, come on people which one is it? the guy can't win

my enjoyment with his songs have nothing to do wth his skin colour. I can say that, because IÄm fan since 2002! Practiacally ALL of my favorite tunes I knew and liked before I became a fan, and beore I knew much about his color. As a child I just loved his songs, before I became too intellectual about it.

So I admit, I might critize HIStory because it doesn't fit with my ideal picture of MJ - making black music, black soul ballads.

But as a child I was able to enjoy his songs from the heart without saying:... yes, but..

This is from Holly on KOP. A summary of MJ's week

* Sunday March 1st Christian Audigier breaks the news to a paparazzo for Hollywood.tv that Michael will be flying to London to announce summer concerts.
* Tuesday March 3rd Michael Jackson lands via private jet (possibly Harrod's owner Mohammed Al-Fayeds) at Luton Airport, London around 2pm with this three children and advisor Dr Tohme Tohme. The sole shot of him exiting the plane was taken by The Sun's Paparazzo J. Bond. Michael arrived at the Lanesborough around 5pm using the back entrance. Most of the paparazzi were waiting at the front of the hotel so there are only 1 or 2 very blurry shots of his arrival at the hotel. His kids had masks on and shook hands with hotel staff that were waiting at the door. Michael was wearing all black, no mask, no fedora, it was just a few seconds, but he turned back to the few fans there and waved.
* Wednesday March 4th Michael Jackson does not leave the hotel all day. Hotel /securitystaff came out of hotel and said to fans Michael had a dinner in the hotel with his kids and put the kids to bed.
* Thursday March 5th Michael Jackson travels to the 02 arena to attend his press conference. He gets stuck in traffic and arrives 1.5 hours late. After the press conference he meets Britain's Got Talent's Suleman Mirza who was backstage preparing to perform at the 02 later that day. Michael said he remembered Suleman. When his coach takes him back to the Lanesborough he becomes trapped in the vehicle because fans are all over it. His driver was about to drive away again but police finally managed to push the fans back so Michael could get into the hotel. Prince and Blanket and Michael wave from the hotel window later that day.
* Friday March 6th Michael Jackson is mobbed by fans to and from attending the show Oliver! on Drury Lane. Police on horses try to control the crowd. Michael was pushed in the side cos of the crowd and almost fell over but a fan caught him. People say he smiled and sat on the ground at one stage cos he couldnt move due to the crowd.
A fan may or may not have jumped on/attempted to hug Paris Jackson. Comedian Alan Davies updates his Twitter to describe the moment Michael Jackson arrived at the theatre and sat next to his wife with his 3 children, Prince, Paris and Blanket and bodyguards. He said there was a commotion when Michael arrived - people asked for autographs etc Michael hugged a fan in the interval. Other audience members say he was clapping and seemed to know all the words to the songs.
* Saturday 7th March Michael Jackson stays in his hotel all day reportedly doing various interviews with the press. A journalist from NME magazine leaves the hotel after the interview and says MJ was really nice. Michael Jackson waves from his hotel room window shortly after midnight which causes hysteria among fans. Hotel staff say he is not scheduled to leave until Monday or Tuesday.
* Sunday 8th March Michael Jackson leaves London by private jet from Luton. He is rumoured to be appearing on American Idol's Michael Jackson week. He is taking over an entire advert break on ITV at 9:30pm with a montage of his past concerts promoting the o2 shows.

I wasn't a big fan of History either, barring four songs- YANA, Scream, Earth Song, and Stranger in Moscow, none of the songs were what you can call great by any means. I think it wasn't as good as his previous release at that time Dangerous.

I never cared about DS, Money, Tabloid Junkie, Don't care about us, etc.

If you first remember Michael when he was about 16, you can understand the reality of his situation now. He has become a shell of his former self.

I think the best thing to happen to Michael, musically, is that he started so young and therefore he managed to build up such a large catalogue of songs with & without his brothers before he was 25.

If he were to depend on the last 20 yrs, he would have no musical legacy whats so ever.

Well to be fair to this statement I will look at MJ's legacy post 25 which is the year 1983. And to also be fair I won't include the Victory album of 1984 as this was with his brothers.

So with that in mind, the musical legacy we have is:

Co-writer of "We are the World"
Album release Bad - with 5 consecutive #1 songs and 9 singles released including I Just Can't Stop Loving You (#1), Bad (#1), "The Way You Make Me Feel" (#1), "Man in the Mirror" (#1), "Dirty Diana" (#1), "Another Part of Me"(#1 R&B Charts, top 20 US), "Smooth Criminal" (Top 10 US chart), "Leave me alone", "Liberian Girl". 30 million albums sold worldwide - 8 million sold US.

Album Release: Dangerous - 30 million sold worldwide - 7 million sold US. 9 Singles released including 1 #1, and 4 Top 10 singles US. Singles were - "Black or White" (#1 US), "Remember the time", "In The Closet", "Jam", "Who Is it?" , "Heal the world", Give in to me", "Will you be there", "Gone too soon".

Album Release: HiStory - 18 million sold with 5 singles - 1 #1 and 2 top 10 hits
Singles - "Scream" (top 5 US), "You are not Alone" (#1 US), "Earth Song", "They Don't Care About Us", "Stranger in Moscow".

Album Release: Invincible - 10 million copies with 3 singles 1 Top 10, 1 Top 20.
Singles: "You rock my world", "Cry", Butterflies"

So looking back on this, we have 4 #1 album releases, and a multitude of top 10 hits. Not a bad legacy at all.

Well duh he's Michael Jackson
smile

It must hard to be level-headed living in his sort of world where he gets mobbed like crazy everywhere he goes, and people squeel seeing him. lol

Madonna is an ego-maniac too. Why not pick on her as well?

Least the guy doesn't overcharge his ticket prices for his fans and cares about them. Madonna's charging more money for her UK shows- and she honestly give a rat's ass over her fans.

Though I liked HIStory, it was a personal project. Almost every song was aimed at the press, Tom Sneddon or the people that didn't like him and thought he was guilty.

I still enjoy "They Don't Care About Us", "DS", "This Time Around", "Stranger In Moscow", and "Smile".

I heard they edited that special like crazy. MJ didn't perform well on one night, but did better on the second night I think. They had a lot of cut and paste jobs done for that one special.

No sense of normality, he's never known that unlike the rest of us (who haven't hit a stage since 5yrs old and since became the most famous human ever). Mike doesn't have to be humble.

Humble people are pussies. Or folk that can't (or won't try to) understand that are, at least.
