Ru's got a new album to go along with the new show. I think it is only on itunes.

I have to say I'm impressed. Very good, very current album. RuPaul's voice is solid. It is a fun album, overall.

Never Go Home Again is a standout track.
Cover Girl and Theme from "Drag Race" will be recognized by anyone who has watched the show. (I actually bought the album 'cause I loved what they played of Cover Girl on the show).
Tranny Chaser is hilarious.
Champion, Destiny Is Mine- two songs whose message of self-empowerment are evident in the song titles.

There is something that makes me think of Donna Summer's Crayons. Not sure if it is a similar sound, or if it is just a return to prominence for the artist.

i *LOVE* cover girl and tranny chaser. so far, i can take or leave most of the rest of the album. it's standard bubblegum diva pop, but i realize that's what most of ru's fans want, and she holds her own quite well for what it is.

i was hoping the whole album would have more of a retro-club/deee-lite-ish vibe, but the bits that do have that feel are worth it to me.

Purchasing right now.

Cover Girl is funky fierce. The fiercest song in a long time.

Tranny Chaser...I agree, should be a single. Reminds me of Kinky/Freaky (in subject matter) from Red Hot (which I LOVED!). I wanted that one to be a single too. Radio would be scared of either.

Theme for Drag Race is actually a lot more solid as a song than I would've expected. Fun.

I kinda expected more from "Throw Ya Hands Up" (I love Bunny too)

For me, RED HOT remains by far Ru's most accomplished (from start to finish) album.

I downloaded the album last night immediately after hearing "Throw Ya Hands Up" on Ru's Myspace page. When I saw this was just the bonus track I thought, "Damn, I gotta hear this thing NOW!!!". The album got off to a good start but it really didn't go anywhere. It's got some good beats but the songwriting was on the weak side. And I didn't get the urge to "shake my ass" (as Andy would say). It wasn't as gawd awful as the 'Starrbooty' soundtrack or forgettable as 'Red Hot'. But it's a ways away from coming anywhere close to the sheer uninhibited brilliance of 'Supermodel of the World'. Someone definately studied Donna Summer's 'Crayons'. That needlessly overprocessed, trying-to-appeal-to-preteens thing Donna was on is in full effect here. As far as I'm concerned, "Throw Ya Hands Up" is the standout cut. I don't see myself sitting through the first 11 songs again just to get to it. Oh...Lady Bunny sings?!?!?! I had no idea!
