20 yrs. of Saadiq

Looking through some old albums I came across 3T's first joint "Who?". Then it dawned on me Ray has been at it for 20yrs in the biz. So here's my shot at Ray's best over the last 20....

Tony,Toni,Tone': all the albums

Soundtrack tunes: me and u, i don't know what u came to do,the ralph tresvant tune, waiting for you(poetic justice), just ask of me, scream.

production: lady, untitled(how does it feel), kissing u, soul sists, brother, laurnea's 1st joint, Joss Stone's last release,

Solo: instant vintage, ray ray, the way i see it,

Lucy Pearl

anything I miss?

uh....I left off the live hits cd cause.....it had no new material on it....however it was a good release not the best representation of his live shows but ok.
As far as his time w/Shelia....Ray has mentioned it was around 86-87. He said they opened for P cause he recalls jamming @ a after hours spot w/him. So...that would have had to be either around the Parade or Sign tours.

TTT on the park....hmmmmm....that would've been interesting! Inspite of it all the Time did benefit from being w/P,well J&L(the stronger writers) did. So no telling what would've come about had Mint or TTT been on the Park.

I watched the Al documentary film 'The gospel according to Al Green' a while back and the bass player in Al Green's band looked like a young Raphael Saadiq, so did he ever play bass/work with Al?.

I'm sure he gets a bass credit as Raphael Wiggins on Sheila E's eponymous 1987 studio album.

Yep. Saadiq said he didn't want to become a clone of P's groups, hence the tongue-in-cheek line you quoted from Born Not To Know.

That's not Ray...but he does sort of look like him!!!! Saadiq is only 40 or 41 so he would've been like 15 or 16 when that docu. was done.

Here's a screencap from the video and it does look alot like Raphael Saadiq

Although you could be right, 'cause the movie/doc was done in 1984, so Raphael would have been about 18 when it was made.
