T actually had success though, Shuggie didn't that's why I compare the two. Van and Shuggie are basically cult classics.

Well now, if that's the comparison then define success. Remember, Van is not trying to be a pop star. Terrence was shooting for Prince's spot back in the day. If the comparison is in that way, I'm gonna have to say NO, Van is NOT the Shuggie Otis of today. Plus, Van is still recording new CDs and Shuggie didn't continue on.

Yeah, Van is still recording but to say he doesn't want to be successful is crazy. TTD had success for a quick minute in the late 80s'.

Van just needs to stop posting blogs and saturate the web with music. Im tired of his "plight" when its not backed up with Music or efforts worthy. The only way to change the climate is to do something, this cat is lazy, i have noticed that since after his first record.

no the post says that he SHOULD stop posting blogs and rants and Saturate the web with music. Meaning stop bitching about not getting a chance and create it. This cat does too much complaining for someone that has almost no output. He had to almost be forced into doing some sort of press and shows for his first album and even then backed out. And im talking local NYC stuff which if you want to build, you have to do, he DIDNT.

As for PRINCE, i saw a quote today from BONO when asked about "downloading and things like that" he basically said thats "not for me to get involved with" its whatever industry's problem and the young bands of today.Which i totally feel is the proper response, why should a band that has paid its dues now all of a sudden bail out the industry that would cast them out in a second, and as for PRINCE he should do whatever he wants, Release everything, dont release anything, whatever, but his day as being the spokeperson and REBEL are gone, if the young cats want the respect, then rise up and do something worthy of it, im not seeing that from anyone new at all

He's not lazy, but he is desperately unfocused and has no quality control. And don't compare him to Terence, who released the best album of his career "Wildcard" a few years back. If Van Hunt could sing 1/100th as good as TTD, I might be bothered to listen further.

Dropping it where? On your Myspace page where people can only hear it, just put the shit out, give it away, sell it for 99 cents on your own site. Im tired of these cats preaching about the "industry" and then NOT doing a god damn thing about, or even creating an alternative, that is what i mean by lazy. And this dude is Lazy, was from day one.
