The remix is slightly better, but otherwise, this song is pretty average. Not awful, but I usually skip it though.

Song does have a catchy hook I'd admit.

You seem like a guy who might know this. How many versions of 'Don't Be Cruel' were there? I was listening to it on the computer the other day and it sounded quite a bit shorter than the version I have on an old Now tape.

Only 1 version of the album. The single had some remixes though.

Sorry I can't help.

I know that there was the album version and a shorter radio edit. lurking

Really? I had no idea? Be nice if MCA re-issued that album with the single remix for "every little step" etc...

I've heard two long versions that were different though. One is just a few seconds under 7 minutes. One has that kind of wobble board (or whatever it's called) kinda sound, and the other doesn't.

ha, wobble board. You mean the prelude before "dont be cruel"? Its pretty freaky, and I like it on the intro of the album, but its annoyingly cut and pasted back in at the end of the album aswell "(cruel reprise)". Its clumsily done, and almost ruins the final track "I really love you girl".

No, not that. lol I mean there's a sound used during the track, but it's not on all versions. Sounds kinda metallic, but also a bit like one of those things Rolf Harris uses. lol

LMAO at the thread title. This song was alright, but the overall album was real good though.

I loved 'Good Enough', 'One More Night', 'Get Away' and 'Pretty Little Girl'.

there are two main versions, the album version (5:00), and the single edit remix version which appears on bobby brown - the dinitive collection (4:29). i like the single/video remix version better. stronger drums/bassline, and a nicer less outdated snare used.
