nice.
when I saw him in concert many years ago he did quite a long solo spot on the organ. very enjoyable. Has anyone tried unplugging the United States and plugging it back in?

better then i expected ...but still shit. He was the funkiest man ever but those organ solos are horrendous. The organ albums are hiliarious for these very reasons. You can imagine the band thinking "What the fuck is he playing?".

I don't know enough about James Brown to comment, so I'll ask the Elders of the Village here on the org:
What were James Brown's talents? He is a unique singer. An electrifying performer. A demanding band leader. He plays a lil organ and keys. Why was he considered great? Was it his live performances? For his time, the public was used to Sam Cooke and Nat King Cole. When James hit the scene, what was the reaction? Did he sound like anyone else in his era? I doubt very much that forty years from now, we'll be talking about most of the people on the top 40 list today, but James Brown endures. What made him special to you? Some people tell me I've got great legs...
