Whats up with janet? It felt like for the past few years though the records are not selling huge numbers janet was in the press so consistently - i've loved it!
but then the pregnancy rumours - not true? True? She's totally fallen off the face of the earth again like olden days. i'm so stoked i got to see the RWU at least. fucking best show. makes Britney's shit look like the caca it is. [Edited 3/26/09 17:27pm] I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I think it might be because
1. Jermaine Dupri has been guiding her career these days- she's better off with Jam and Lewis. 2. The backlash towards her after the whole Superbowl incident I can't really think of any other reasons besides those.

The writing's on the wall.If she doesn't make some drastic changes in her career, she's gonna get left behind and become a total has-been.She recently backed out of a Japan tour because of the "economic crisis" but yet,her brother has proven that people will pay to go to a concert regardless of the economy.Madonna is extending her tour and isn't having any problems at all.
It might be wise for her to take 2009 off.She needs time to re-group.

While it's great that she has been more productive in recent years, the results haven't been great and the marketing is so terrible that it seems like she comes and goes rather quickly (the press and promotion for "Discipline" lasted....a week?).

I wonder if she is hanging out with him because she is working with J&T together...he maybe making use of those finger snaps again! Anyway..it's not all someone elses fault either. She has to start being more creative again. She needs to stop letting people direct her path. She has to be a strong woman and stand up for what's hers. Stop being shy and start being a leader, not a follower. Alot of older than 30 artists need to wisen up (LIONEL RICHIE!) Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

It's J.D. Fault. Men and women use to lust after Janet thinking she was not attainable and Mysterious. All of a sudden in my chris rock voice men around the world was saying damn i had a shot! Her being with J.D made her seem like some average women which of course she is but you know how fans act. Of course J.d. gain some praise but at the cost of Janet career.

I really hope that they take over for her next album! I thought I read around here somewhere that they were going to be working together again. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

It might be wise for her to take 2009 off.She needs time to re-group. But abother year off is bad for her career! But honestly, I think the public doesn't care for her. Her music is not inspiring, she's not intersting. Why should a 15 year old become a fan of her? She's gotta try to keep her shrinking fan base.

So you think she should rush out another CD and watch it flop just like the last three albums? There's nothing wrong with taking some time off,to re-group and become inspired again.Besides, this is her brother's year. He's gonna get all the attention this summer when he launches his tour. "why would a 15 year old become a fan of hers" She doesn't necessarily need to appeal to that audience.

IF I may add my two pennies to the well. Janet is at point where she can and should take risk. She instead works with the hottest artist of the moment which looks silly. She already is an icon. Rather than keep up with the youngster make a daring album. Make something shocking her latest CD's have been copy cat work at best. She is still a fantasy woman in my eyes. Its time for her to be a grown woman and surprise me with an album that if she hadn't made it I would have never heard it.

Hell yeah, I miss the year 1984! ....I hate that you're braggin' about being able to experience it In case you didn't get the memo, being age 30-something is the new "old" with my generation of music listeners. At least that's what today's music industry want us to believe. You might be shock to find out how many die-hard Janet fans had no idea that she had 2 career albums BEFORE Control. And I get label as "old" for knowing my music history, never mind that the 1980's isn't anywhere as "old" as the 1960's. [Edited 3/23/09 19:08pm]
