No doubt in my mind. The look alone that he dropped on me told me that. Again, it was probably a jealousy thing at the time and GB eventually ended his hateration of P. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

They did a song called "Disrespectful", which is an old crack track of mine. They've also performed together since then. Chaka WAS mad initially but after meeting Mary J., they became friends.

More insight please. Lady Day was pissed at Lee & Page for ripping off her style and not giving her the credit, unlike Frank Sinatra who openly said times & again that he was strongly influenced by her. There's this story about Peggy Lee approaching Billie in a party with a song called "Lady Of The Gardenias" asking her to sing it, Billie laughed at her face and said "Keep it, bitch. It will go VERY well with everything else you stole from me" There's a WHOLE chapter about the singers who supposedly ripped her off from Lady Sings the Blues, but it got deleted from the book for legal reasons.

There's this story about 2 Navy guys tryna mess with her(this was during the World War years) and one of them made the inevitable mistake of burning his cigarette on her mink fur. She pulled her gun, put it in his mouth and dragged him & his friend outta the bar, gave the gun to one of her friends, took off her jewelry and whooped their asses untill she floored them on the middle of the street. When the police came, she was wearing her mink, rubbing her hands toghether like she was hurt, and when they looked @ her, she got on her Lady-like act "They tried to rob me" The worst(I read so far) was when she worked up a Klan's man face with a broken beer bottle for calling her "Nigger winch". Most of her physical fights were with men,,,,the women didn't mess with her because they thought she was "crazy". The whole opening chapter in Maya Angelou's Heart Of Woman with Billie Holiday staying in her house was priiiiiceless

Although Rick and Grace Jones presented Marvin with a Grammy in '84 or so and everything seemed fine n dandy.... still, I wonder what his reaction would've been to Prince and Nona gettin it on That reminds me, there's more footage of him performing "Let's Get It On" and towards the end he stars stripping. He gets to his underpants and says, "I'm not Prince I can't take this off!" [Edited 2/23/09 22:48pm] no.....rick was doin' it to jan b4 prince and nona remember marvin died in 84

Rumor was Marvin told her to do it but I doubt it, both of them were very promiscuous (Marvin & Jan). Their relationship was doomed to start with.
