In a word, no. She made an easy scapegoat, is what it amounts to. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

nah they probably would have broken up anyway. John hooking up w/yoko was just a sign that he was already moving in another direction. She may have given him the support to do what he might not have been able to do himself, though (I know technically Paul broke up the band but probably wouldn't have if John had still been into it). But I was not there when he was shot dead, there are no pictures of it and yet I totally believe John is dead! His life is SOOOO well documented and several persons saying John & Yokos marriage was rubbish and damaged makes me just believe it. It's no secret John was with May in the early 70s, so this proves they had problems. In John's house-husband Dakota days several people he had contact with agreed that his "relationship" with Yoko was almost dead. I wonder why so many claim this woman to have split the Beatles yet they defend her marriage with John like if it was the holy grale!

She totally controlled every phone call before it went to John. Yoko did not let George H. or Paul ring John up because Y. thought it would not be good for John. She also gave him pocket money each week.

Unlike some Beatles' fans, I don't hold irrational grudges. As for the state of their relationship? Don't know, don't care. Whatever did or didn't happen was their business, and I think it's more than a bit presumptious for people to claim they know for sure who loved who, who hated who, etc. Unless you have a way into their psyches, it's all speculation. Us fans don't know for sure. But I think it's safe to say that their marriage was not near as romantic as they let the world believe. Yoko is not to blame for the split! They all had women and when they stopped touring they followed different interstest. George did his India thing, Ringo did movies, John LSD and Paul music... I think one of the main reasonn they really split in 1969 was the ego battle between J. and P. John always admitted that Paul was more prolific, that he had the more commercial songs, more chords, more fans etc. This must have been a big slap for J.s ego! But J. just thought he was the leaser but when he realized he was mainly into trips and that Paul did lead the Beatles (in 1966/67) John became nervous and when he met Yoko she fueled his creativity but also his ressentiments against Paul so that the egos battled and the Beatles had to split.

May probably felt duped when John called the relationship off by the way. I guess John had enough of that and decided to try again with Yoko. I think their 1975-1980 years was when they fell in love. I just think John & Yoko had weird ways of showing it before hand with the bed thing and the nude photo shoot. You hear that and you'd be like "ok..."

The Two Virgins one, or the one shot on JL final day? The Annie Leibovitz shooting was her idea and John was just willing to do that.

John Lennon was much too smart and savvy to ever be 'pussywhipped" or 'controlled" by anyone...ask Paul,he tried and failed many a time to coax John into things.John Lennon was always in control, the Beatles were his group!
John Lennon didn't have anything to do with anyone who couldn't help take him to the next level. I also firmly believe that much of the hate geared towards Yoko is based on her race. yep,i said it.
