Or was he a "Rock and Roll Pu**y?"

Beat it, beat it, beat your guitar
Smash it, smash it, 'til it sees stars
Rip it, rip it, rip it to shreds
Throw down your axe and then jump into bed
Get up, get up, get up and see
Revolution on the TV
Will you, will you, get your nails dirty
Or are you only just a rock and roll pussy

John should stayed in this direction:

Perhaps he was.....in love?! neutral I mean, I know it wasn't the question being asked, but Yoko's not exactly my cup of tea. There was more than meets the eye with the woman, apparently. Lennon was such a driven individual with her around. She was his MUSE! What can I say? I kind of envy what he and Yoko had. It was deeper than a physical attraction. It was a common love for music and peace for all existing civilizations in the universe that held them together. That which heightened the sense of passion, EVEN MORE!!!

Lennon was so much more gregarious with her around. He wasn't as disgruntled. He acted as though The Beatles hindered him from seeing life the way he wanted to see it, in a way. I wish I would have known the guy. So outspoken. I know I get into these long, drawn-out synopses and reckless banter of my disdain for unattractive females and such, but really, love HAD/HAS to be powerful if it polarized Lennon, Post-Beatles to that degree. The dichotomy of his characterization metamorphosis was chronicled so precisely that the discernment was just uber-fascinating. He was a changed man.

Sorry for the jabberwocky, again. sigh Anyway, Yoko gets a lot of flack from diehard Beatles Fans, and at first sight, one would be on the fence with those same aficionados of those Pop Pioneers. But when you delve intellectually into the intricacies of the matter, you'd be beleaguered onto the side of Lennon/Ono's, no questions asked. I still don't know as much about Beatles/Lennon/McCartney's Catalog as I should. But I know that as an individual, Lennon was admirable and has my adulation because his integrity remained intact (Something I struggle with.).

lol You want to know the funny thing about your post? I was JUST going to type exactly what you said before I decided to post what I really did. Oh, the irony. In a sense, I could understand why you feel that way. Theoretically, it makes sense; That is, until one implements several other subjunctive hypotheses that dare intercede the veritableness of that label. But eh, you could say he was uxorious, I guess. Yeah, he practically lived vicariously through Ono (Who, once again, must I reiterate, isn't much of a looker in my eyes. But the issue of her beauty is a matter of immanence.).

My interpretation:

Some say he needed those two kinda womans, one really strict and cold like Yoko (the new Aunt Mimi) and the kind and warm woman like May Pang (the new Julia).
Anyway, talking about their marriage, the marriage seemed to be dreadful. I doubt it was much fun. Since the eraly 70s Yoko apparently didn't want to sleep with John that often, also they departed for a while blablabla... You can read that everywhere...

For his music: People tend to forget that John Lennon was a musical Nowhere Man in 1966 and 1967. Okay, he wrote some decent songs, but he felt betrayed and attacked by Paul, who took the lead position and was insztrumental in makking Revolver, Peppers and MMT. John used to say he was forced in writing songs for those projects and in all honesty John's songs from that period (save for Walrus, LSD and A Day In The Life) are not up to his usual standard.

Anyway, john was drifting into his drug-led life and had to watch how Paul took control and then came Yoko.

Suddenly John was there again. With some strange behaviour, but just look at the White Album. JL wrote some of his best songs for it. He was at a creative high in 1968!

In 1969 he did almost nothing for the Beatles, but he had a career on his own (or with Yoko) and all his creativity went into his peace activism or the POB.

Also Yoko inspired his song Imagine and many great love songs (Woman, I'm Losing You, Bless You,...)

But JL#s love for Yoko also made him an addict to her and weak and sometimes he acted like a helpless child...

So, Yoko was good and bad for John.

No, I know. He did seem to hang around her finger like the strings hanging from glued-together pickup sticks holding a ventriloquist doll. I get what you mean. It's just that some may disagree (Especially those that really respect the guy. That's not to say that you don't.).

John met Yoko during a course of about a thousand tabs of acid. Suffice it to say she made an impression.

But I doubt he was pussywhipped, he must have slept with nearly as many women as he ingested tabs of acid. Surely some of them were good in bed.

Isn't shitting on Yoko a little passe? John loved Yoko, Yoko loved John. Whatever ups and downs they had were their business. Leave it alone, kids. Sooner or later, all our favourite bands will break up, and all our heroes will move away from that big shiny pedestal we've put them on and it's stupid to try to blame that on, well, The Yoko Factor.

Things change. Human beings are notorious for that sort of behaviour.

I don't know much about the beatles, or much about John, but I did see part of a doco, that showed John and Yoko directing some musicians in a studio, and she is whispering to John all these suggestions for him to tell the band. You can almost feel the animosity, like what is SHE doing her telling us this stuff for lol. Every time they tried what she wanted, it sounded better! I reckon she had a good sense for the music.

Yoko did NOT John happy. She made John a Yoko-addict and John knew he was.
May Pang made John happy!

Yoko was trying to divorce from John at least two times. Once in 73/74 when they were apart and Yoko tried to establish a very own musical career, but it didn't work out. Also the man she was in love with, David Spinozza, didn't want Yoko, so she was frustrated when she ands John became a couple again in early 1975...

And in August 1980 while John was in the Bermudas, she planned a divorce too. She married shortly after John died, in mid 1981 I believe.
