Yeah, they're one in the same. The only difference is the later versions of these songs have been cleaned up/digital remastered and the "DeBarge Greatest Hits" gives you two more seconds than the "Rhythm Of the Night" version. Go with the one on G.H. if wanna download.
[Edited 2/24/09 4:57am]

Thanks. I have the song on Greatest Hits and ROTN. They're both the same. I didn't even notice the 2 extra seconds! lol I do have an edited version of the song on 45 though. Flip side of "The Heart is Not So Smart"... cool

I have Bunny as a friend on Myspace. Do you think she would answer personal questions about the making of that song?

According to the Unsung special, "Share My World" wasnt' a single. Evidentally, "The Heart is Not So Smart" was the single, then.

"A Dream" wasn't a single either.

Me neither. I didn't like the song anyway. I only bought it because "Share My World" was on the flip side. This was back in like '86.

Hey, she may. The DeBarge's have a pretty cool rep about being accessible/nice to their fans or people who like their music. Some folks don't like being called a fan. If Bunny replies, please, comeback and tell us about it. She cowrote a song or two for Switch as well.
[Edited 2/25/09 6:39am]

Bunny DeBarge and Bobby DeBarge were talented songwriters along with El, coincidentally Bunny DeBarge co-wrote "This Is My Dream" with Bobby and "Why'd You Let Love Fall" & "Love Over & Over Again" off of the This is My Dream LP. She also co-wrote "My Friend In The Sky" with Bobby DeBarge off the "Reaching For Tomorrow" LP....She was talented as a songwriter and singer..I loved her voice. Also is'nt the Version of 'A Dream" On the Ultimate Collection Longer than the version on "In A Special Way" CD??

You may not remember it, but I'm sure you know "One More Chance" from Notorious BIG. It uses the song as a sample.

Eh, Mary J. Blige sampled "Share My World" for her song called, er, "Share My World" (hear her interpolate it at the end of the song which is actually how DeBarge's song starts).

"One More Chance" sampled STAY WITH ME. cool

Here it is finally!! The original version of "Share My World" from The Debarge's first album THE DEBARGES (1981) It is different!! I still prefer the ROTN version though (the one scriptgirl posted). They sound so much younger in this one! You can tell they kept a lot of the original recording, but re-recorded most of it. For the better I think! nod

Not to take the shine away from El,Bobby & Bunny...Carol DeBarge was a gifted vocalist as well. We dont hear much from her but i heard her sing live and TRULY talented as is Randy DeBarge. Bobby's Son Bobby DeBarge Jr.

See, scriptgirl told us there was a different arrangement of "Share My World". lol Like Danny, I prefer the ROTN version, though I wouldn't mind having this version either. Thanks for digging around and finding it.

I never knew there was an original version of this. I know when I was really little, every sunday, my radio station, WDAS out of Philly would PLAY the fuck out of this song. It was really popular, probably because it was the only real rnb track on that cd

Philly recognized a great album track back in the day then! thumbs up! I'm sure the version was the ROTN version (still my favorite and the first I ever heard as well). Were you little around '85-86? I discovered this song by buying ROTN on cassette back in the day. Of course I bought it for "Rhythm of the Night" and "Who's Holding Donna Now". lol

It would be nice to re-release all of the DeBarge's catalogs and bonus cuts from the motown vaults, you know they are notorious for having unreleased songs in the vaults.....Come on Motown what gives???
