If the capacity is 20,000, that amount of shows means he's performing to more folk than on the Bad tour Wembley Stadium stint. you know, back when he was really popular!
Amazing if he pulls this off.

[Edited 3/10/09 15:40pm] It costs about $1500 for me to get there I'll just hope he'll do some dates here in the meantime This really seems like its worth that amount if good viewing (ideally close to the stage) seats can be attained. (And I wouldn't pay anywhere near hundreds of dollars for ANY other concert/artist, even if I could get tickets for front-row center. ) "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Amazing if he pulls this off. I get the feeling he's not gonna do a run like this in the US ... they may get a one of show but like the man said .....THIS IS IT ...he's not doing anymore ...he's gonna take the money and run .... US orgers get your plane tickets ready or buy the DVD .... Da, Da, Da....Emancipation....Free..don't think I ain't..! London 21 Nights...Clap your hands...you know the rest..

I wonder how many will be cancelled. 10 night seemed reasonable for his physique, but 30? Best case scenario, it's still a huge stretch.
Not that it affects me, I've got tickets for opening night!

Not that it affects me, I've got tickets for opening night! You lucky git.... , i'd say all nights after the 21 concert looks suspect ....as we known Prince did it ....but can Mike do more than 21 ??? can any Artist that's the question as the 22 would be a world record... Not that it affects me, I've got tickets for opening night! its not 30 in a row, and its not like he has to travel. i think it will be relatively smooth. if it gets to be too much, they can just drop a couple songs and make the show shorter. NaughtyKitty said: I wondered about who would be insuring this since I'd read that Lloyd's was in trouble financially. I can't imagine any company, especially in this economy, taking this on. Just because the promoters say something, doesn't make it true. Remember, they sold tickets to a Prince concert a year or two ago when things weren't finalized and it was cancelled fairly close to the performance date. Just be cautiously enthused, so if the shit does hit the fan, it's not so damn disappointing. I learned that after driving up to the L.A. Forum and finding out P had cancelled the show. That was such a HORRIBLE letdown! So now I try to keep myself at the lower end of excitement until the show actually starts. Expect the worst and then whatever happens will (hopefully) be better!

WetDream said: Copycat said: Michael Jackson Adds 16 More London Shows March 11, 2009 Link Michael Jackson has added 16 more concerts to his summer residency at London's O2 Arena following strong demand for the pre-sale tickets today (March 11). Pre-sale tickets for the AEG Live-promoted residency went on sale at 7am GMT to those who successfully entered the registration process for a chance to gain access to the pre-sale ticket offer. Tickets go on general sale from March 13. There are now a total of 26 dates confirmed, running from July 8 to Sept. 10, according to Ticketmaster. Prices range from £50 ($68.82) to £75 ($103.23). However, dates have been regularly added throughout the day so that number could change. The huge response from fans who successfully registered at michaeljacksonlive.com and via text for the pre-sale led to delays online today. Chris Edmonds, managing director of Ticketmaster U.K., said in a statement: "We have witnessed an unprecedented level of demand for the Michael Jackson concerts at the O2. Unfortunately due to a technical issue, we were unable to facilitate all immediate ticket requests. Apologies to those fans who were unable to log on, but fans should keep on trying to purchase tickets." According to AEG Live, 19 shows sold out their pre-sale allocation earlier today. The pre-sale allocation for each show is around half the number of total tickets available according to a spokeswoman for AEG Live. The total ticket allocation for each O2 concert is not yet confirmed. While the venue has a total capacity of 23,000, many concerts are around 18,000. lol its funny, reading this and then the username of the person who posted, it fits! I got a question, if Prince had announced he was going to play 5 dates at Tokyo Dome then proceeded to play 14 sold out shows, would that mean he was a copy cat, or play 9 shows at Wembley after Michael had done 7, would that mean he was a copycat? Can't it be because the o2 is becoming the residence arena to play? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

No .....Prince made the o2 what it is ...it was not even the venue of choice in London let alone the UK until he did his 21 nights...it's his home AEG owe alot to Prince ....but MJ knows he's got to do at least 21 nights to be up their ...10 Nights just would not cut it ....that's how far Prince pushed the boat out / raised the bar ....now that Prince and MJ have booked the 02 and the stones have played their ....it leaves just Sir Paul and Bowie left to give it the final crown.... Yes, because it just had opened a couple of days earlier! And it's not like Prince made anything! AEG was looking for a star to have a residency there and they got Prince, considering that it took them over 2 years to get Michael to agree to do this, who knows if Prince was even the first choice?!
