So this is what was on the Top 40 a few weeks before I was born in 79 (March 26th). Wow and I like most of the songs on that list too. I came around at the right time! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Do Ya Think I'm Sexy is one of Rod Stewart's biggest hits. Hell, Janet even redid Tonight's The Night. Come on, even my 10 year old cousin knows some of these songs. These songs are apart of Americana/HISTORY. There aren't a lot of songs that can stand the test of time, but many of these have. "Dancin Shoes" by Nigel Olsson is a great song.He was Elton John's drummer.Don't be fooled by the title...it's NOT an uptempo disco song It's a soft rock/adult contemporary ballad...a beautiful song!

No,I always thought their songs were too silly and campy and you couldn't really take those songs seriously I love The Village People (especially the hairy chested biker) and I can definately take their songs seriously..... All men and no women in the YMCA definately sounds like fun....especially in the showers. San Francisco and Fire Island sound like the place to be. And ohhhhh.....the things I could do with a Hot Cop. I mean, come on....in 1979 they also had a hit song called "In The Navy",lol.
Another great one. All those men on a ship at sea for months at a time with no access to a woman whatsoever. Whatever will they ever do to fulfill their horny desires? Andy is a four letter word.

I like most of those songs, but my favorite is definitely "What a Fool Believes." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

In "Macho Man" he says something about his big thick moustache, but it sounds more like he says big DICK to me. That's all kinds of disturbing.
Anyways, not all of them were gay. I taped a documentary years ago that said that the lead singer was married to the actress who played Claire Huxtable at one stage, but he was big into Cocaine, so they got divorced.

Here's a memory that I have of 1979...
It's the spring of '79 (May,to be exact) and it was the day that Donna Summer's 'Bad Girls' album was released,or it may have been a few days earlier. One of our local radio stations announced that they would soon be giving us a "world premiere" of the new album...playing select cuts from it later on that night. So my sister (who was a big Donna fan too) and I stayed up late to hear it.The DJ played the entire Side One and we were in heaven... Hot Stuff Bad Girls Love Will Always Find You Walk Away Up to that point,we had only heard the first single "Hot Stuff",so the other three songs were totally new to us.The song "Bad Girls" was amazing the first time I heard it! I couldn't believe that Donna was being so naughty...lol...asking a dude if he's got a "dime"...lol...it was so daring for her.I thought her vocals on "Love Will Always Find You" were kinda wierd, but I now understand that she was trying out a new vocal style on that track."Walk Away" blew us away! For several months after that,we both thought this was the greatest album ever made, lol.
