STEVIE WONDER LIVE NEXT WEEK Stevie Wonder and WETA to rock the White House Washington public TV station WETA (Channel 26) says it just received permission this afternoon from the White House to tape Stevie Wonder in Performance at the White House: the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize on Wednesday -- and then, air it the next night (Feb. 26) on PBS stations across the country. President Obama will confer the Library of Congress "Gershwin Prize for Popular Song" on Wonder during the concert, and there will be performances by Wonder, as well as Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Martina McBride, Esperanza Spalding, Will.i.am, and the gospel duo Mary Mary Way to go WETA. The people of Washington and PBS viewers across the country are lucky to have such an ambitious, smart and enterprising public TV outlet. The show will air at 8 p.m. Feb. 26. | |
