Girls Aloud win first BRIT award, notch 20th straight top 10 single, and sign new contract and own rights

Not bad for a group that was formed on a tv show?? I mean what does america form.....DAY 26 or DA BAND.

Yesterday Girls Aloud took home their first ever Brit award win, this for "the Promise" as best single. Gave an excellent LIVE performance. A week before they notched their 20th straight Top 10 single with "The Loving Kind" which although a good song, not a good second single choice for them, next up could be "Untouchable" which is the fan favorite, and at 6 minutes is their longest ever song on an album. And as that was all happening their contract for 5 years, 5 studio albums and 1 hits package came to a close, a new, top dollar, deal was struck for 3 more albums with the girls taking a bigger cut this time around and securing rights to performing credits and points on all play. Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud signed a 2million pound deal with X factor to be a judge again, and the girls are getting some free play in the USA, being used on an upcoming soundtrack for the tv show 90210, the new version, will find 3 tracks by the girls, their only "domestic" release in this country.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
