recorded, synched, they still sound better than most music out today. REAL talent. It's a shame black people playing instruments have become endangered species "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

But has anyone ever seen them performed live? It was very questionable back then...

Nah, playing an instrument takes up a lot of time and practice.. a no can do with this instant gratification generation. Of course parents don't appear to insist their kids learn to play an instrument either. [Edited 2/18/09 15:01pm]

It was very questionable back then... There's some history before Switch. Bobby Debarge and trumpet player Greg Williams were in the Barry White produced funk band White Heat in 1975. Bobby sang and played keys. Then they formed Smash, before Switch. I don't think the writing skill of these guys can be questioned. I wish there was some live footage of them. Berry Gordy once said that Bobby was the most talented artist he had at Motown. Release Yourself

I think El and Marty were also in Smash. There is a poster of them that says Smash and they, along with their Abney cousins, were in the band.
*small voice* what is it about Bobby that makes everyone say he was so talented? Switch's music is good, but sounds a bit dated to me. And I don't like Bobby's solo cd. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Thanks for those trivia scriptgirl. Also orger sunlite and others for their great info. scriptgirl said: *small voice* what is it about Bobby that makes everyone say he was so talented? Switch's music is good, but sounds a bit dated to me. And I don't like Bobby's solo cd. I dig various songs with Bobby singing in it. "You Pulled A Switch" as one of my faves. And though their style might sound dated to some, it doesn't take away that those songs showcase their talent. "Dated" is not automatically connected to "untalented". Certainly not in this case. All Switch-players could literally "switch" from instrument during performances. They were multi-instrumentalists. Pulling my Switch-card right now [Edited 2/19/09 2:37am]

They play on my local R&B radio station "There'll Never Be' and I
am always singing it when it comes on but they always end it at my favorite part. When they start singing la-la-la-la-la-la.. ....you know basically the middle of the song. They played it lastnight and they always leave me hanging ..I guess I have to break out my CD. Desiigner "Panda" LES TWINS x YAK FILMS | Laurent ft Skitzo & Boom Squad Inglewood (part 1)
