What's Prince problem with the Jacksons?

I find it kind of odd that he turned down both Michael and Janet's offer to be on one of their tracks....

Why did he? Plus, do you think Bad or Love Will Never Do With Out You would be better if Prince were on it?

The songs just didn't fit him

I can't imagine him in the Love Will Never Do Without You. All the heat and wind would've done too much damage to his perm! lol

and I like Bad as a solo track. It doesn't feel like a duet

What, that'd be great. I'd like to see Prince and Jermaine work together. Prince should have replaces Pia Zadora on "When The Rain Begins To Fall"

Jermaine: "What's up Prince"
Prince: "Hey ..."
Jermaine: "Ay, you know I put this whole Jackson shit together right, us singing and dancin'"
Prince: "Word"
Jermaine: "Ay, you do say more than one word at once right?"
Prince: "Yas!
Jermaine: "Don't fuck with me!!"
PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

You know what I just thought about?

Since Prince loves purple, do you think he keeps a gallon of grape drink in his fridge?

I don't see Prince drinkin' "drink" he seems like a juice guy too me. Jermaine, on the other hand, straight up drink.

Can't imagine Prince on Bad. Ugh. Just a horrible thought. shake I could see him on Love Will Never Do but for the most part I prefer no Prince/Jackson collabos.

Go to 4:35- Janet is talking about how she turned down Prince.

did Prince actually turn down "Love Will Never Do"?

i thought that they had planned to ask him to do it, but never did because they liked the sound of Janet singing in a lower register on those parts.

Prince did an interview in 1997 with Chris Rock where they both discussed this matter.

According to the man himself, "The first line in that song is, "yo butt is mine."

I said, "who's singin' that to who? I ain't singin that to you, and damn sho', you ain't singin' that to me!" lol falloff

THAT'S why he never sang "Bad" with Michael Jackson! lol

It's also discussed in the book "DMSR". He wanted to do it, but he felt that it wasn't the write material and he felt it wouldn't have been an even trade

LaToya Jackson claims that,in 1978,Prince asked her out for a date."This was in his 'Soft and Wet' days",she recalls. She turned him down and says that,a few years later he saw her and her family at a restaurant having dinner."He walked right past us without saying a word",she says.

hmmm Maybe he never got over the fact that LaToya rejected him? lol

I don't think Janet and Latoya look alike at all, pre-surgery days or now, but my god they are both so similar to Michael. Her mannerisms in this clip are exactly like his.

One would never know, but I believe that not only is Prince a good musician, but he also has a good perception on things when it comes to art. Look at how successful Janet and MJ's records turned out without him.

I think it's better for Michael to do a cover of a Prince song. Starfish And Coffee would be great!

Honestly, I can't see Prince doing either song. Prince was right about "Bad", it wouldn't have been right with 2 people on it and that "Your butt is mine" line would've made people even more suspect of whoever was singing that line and it would've have been more drama necessary, though MJ would have loved it I'm sure lol. Prince, J/L or whoever made the right decisions with both these songs.

You know what. I think that first verse was supposed to be for him. That was like the only time she has ever sung in that register until she hit "You".

Not to mention he would have been playing the ultra cheesy Wesley Snipes part in the video. Wesley was just starting his acting career in 1987 and Prince was alreadly a major music star.

I wouldn't want to do it either.

Bad is cool as a MJ spectacle, but for Prince to be playing the guy against whom Mike becomes some sort of superhero dance hoodlum in order to outshine him doesn't place Prince in the greatest spotlight.

Nah, the video would've been different. After Prince decided not to do it, I think they rewrote it. The meeting was in the Spring of 86 and they didn't start filming the short film until December 1986

that to you and you are definitely not saying that to me. lol
