What about the girls? Debbie Harry fair?

I guess, lol. But I'll make a big case for Teena Marie ("Square Biz"). wink

I remember hearing Blondie's "Rapture" while I was still in the eighth grade. I didn't hear Teena Marie's "Square Biz" until the summer between the eighth and ninth grade. Even if Teena had come out with her's first, Blondie would have still been the first white lady to rap because Teena Marie was straight up black. lol

Yeah, but Redd and LaWanda weren't white though, Alan Willis was. lol As for rhyming and shit talking in the days before rap, Dolemite was very good at it, and he even had background music behind his jokes. lol

Did it match the beat? That's the million-dollar question. lol If it didn't match the beat, he ain't a rapper. lol

Naw, it didn't match the beat. To me, it sounded like the background music in old 70s porn films. lol

I would say, Everlast, from "House of Pain". He had a record deal years before "HOP", he had a totally different vibe back then.

His character on the show was bi-racial. The actors themselves (there were two Alan Willises) were straight up white though.

I heard about his pre-House of Pain career. Everlast had a very interesting career anyways.

Blondie - Rapture 1981

Though I liked "Rapture", I though the rap was corny.

Real corny. That's why I said Teena. One of the finest rap verses came from that song! "What you feel, SAY WHAT!?!" cool

Here is what my girlfriend does. She will play the 45 at 33 and the 33 at 45, sample each one and then mix certain parts within each other. So, it is kinda like what they did to "Strawberry Fields". It sound dope and weird at the same time.

she is a producer out her in NY. Really good, and I am not just saying it. She is 28 but a very mature 28. She has an ear for music, especially old music. The records that we know as "Old Cats", she knows very well. And yes, she mixes and has her own production company, World Live, Ent.
