He's still in this wretched place? How gaudy.

yeah, some rooms are too much, but some rooms are really lovely. And the pool ain´t bad either. How can someone who lives in this house be in financial crisis? I´d love this type of financial crisis.

I like some of the rooms, too. Nice warm colors.

If anything, he's cleaning house. I mean, you don't see any handwritten notes, personal photos, reel tapes..... just stuff that he probably doesn't want or care about these days

Alot of that stuff was stored in Neverland

Just seeing the actual items on auction makes me sad for the man.

There's ONE thin I would love, though; the Peter Pan book; that's a great edition.

All that stuff is from Neverland, and since he doesn't live there nor does he want to return, he's gonna sell it

I don't feel sorry for him. I mean, look at his new house

cool

I know where it's from. It's just sad someone fills his life in this way. So much waste.

yeah, but if this is his way to move forward with his life, then good for him

I knew about the auction months ago when he transferred Neverland to that company he co-owns and they moved everything out

Just imagine if the auction included demo tapes and reels, I'd hitchhike to Beverly Hills to at least buy something lol

plus those rumors of a 31 date residency at the London o2 keep on getting bigger and bigger lol

he cannot have money (depiste what some fans say). It must be hard for him to auction a gift from his children.

Maybe not, but I doubt he's doing this for money. The auction is estimated to bring in only a couple of million USD, which is pocket change for him, and wouldn't even be a drop in the bucket to cover his debts.

My guess is that he's planning to get rid of Neverland permanently, or use it for something besides living, and needs to clear out some of the crap so he won't have to pay storage fees. smile

Are you forgetting this is a man who flew over to Japan to spend a whole day signing autographs just so he could make an easy million? He also sold tickets to Neverland a few years ago at a hefty price. It's pretty obvious he has financial troubles and is trying to find ways to make money without having to tour.

I never said he wasn't in financial trouble, I just said I didn't think he was doing this auction for the money. I do think he's in trouble, it's just not as urgent as some reports suggest. If he needed money right this instant, he could make a lot more than a measly few million by doing stuff like you yourself suggested above.

I think this is a case of needing to get rid of all the crap he has stored at Neverland, which is the major drain on his resources, so he can either get rid of it completely or do something lucrative with the property. Even if he wasn't in financial hot water, this would be the sensible thing to do, if he's not planning to live there again.

This is just my take on it, though. razz

I really don't think MJ is in any fit state to Tour...the man's not well he's not been well for a good few years...he nearly went to jail ...that stress and his lifestyle ....plastic surgery etc...have taken it's toll on MJ...lets hope for the best but ...deep down inside ...his best days are behind him ...to make money he needs to do stunts.....

Funny...he's so well known around the world but no big companies are using him for soft drinks...or any products..well not that i see in the UK does he sell stuff in the US ...??? eek

What does any of that have to do with my post? I never said he had to tour. I doubt very much that he's physically capable of touring at the moment.

Regardless of his reasons for this auction,I think it's sad to see him selling so many of his personal items, especially the "Thriller" awards.I remember watching the American Music Awards in January 1984 when Michael won all those awards. It seems kinda sad to see him let it all go.I truly hope he's not doing this because of financial problems.

Didn't he say that he put his awards in storage? I don't see why a single American Music Award should be picked up by strangers! lol

He's not. lol

Maybe museum owners will try to purchase the awards if they really will be sold.

MICHAEL JACKSON - JACKSON CLOTHING ON DISPLAY

Clothes MICHAEL JACKSON wore on his VICTORY tour and onstage at the 1984 American Music Awards have gone on display at Los Angeles' new Grammy Museum.

The HIStyle exhibit features eight elaborately embellished jackets, two gloves, and accessories.

Items also include the outfit the King of Pop wore when he unveiled his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in November, 1984.

HIStyle hits Los Angeles & the Grammys - The Grammy Museum showcases Michael Jackson's look & life!

February 5, 11:24 PM
by Dominic Patten, Pop Culture Examiner

In 2009, the heart of downtown LA is not exactly the first place you think you'll find Michael Jackson but that is where the King of Pop, or at least his famed bejeweled wardrobe, will be starting February 7.

That when the Grammy Museum announced today that they would be debuting a "one-of-a-kind exhibit" that "will feature a selection of the elaborate clothing that has come to define the 'King of Pop’s' uniquely personal style."

Opening the day before the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, the exhibition will feature "jackets worn on the Victory tour, at Jackson’s 1984 American Music Awards appearance, and at the dedication of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame." And, because no exhibition on Michel Jackson, who recently moved back to Beverly Hills, would complete without them, there will be two of the singer's famed dazzling silver gloves on display as well.

Michael Jackson: HIStyle runs from February 7 until mid- April 2009. Visit www.grammymuseum.org for more info of this and other exhibits.
