Now that Utada has flopped with her new boring single worse than a Kylie Minogue album in the US...

...will she release real music like my beloved "DEEP RIVER"...or continue to be a pop whore that works with Stargate...

sad

Worse...she worked with Tricky!

Why Hikki?? Why have you forsaken this j-pop fan????

At least my beloved Ayumi still does ther ultra-glam-rock singles!

"Flopped"?

Depends who you talk to, if you even care about anyone else's opinion besides your own close-minded "oh, it didn't make the charts" one. First off, if there isn't a video for Utada's single, it won't be debuting high on a chart. And that = a flop to most people. Even if there was a video for this song, and I don't even know if there is or not... do you actually think MTV is gonna play it? Yeah f'n right! She's Asian, and since when are Asian artists given ANY f'n airtime on MTV, unless they're on the Real World, OR as part of a band/dance crew?! You can best believe that the close-minded fucks at MTV and radio program managers across the U.S. will not give an Asian artist any video airtime or radio play... because they don't believe Asians are marketable as profitable artists. Why? It's probably because there haven't been any. And that's because no one has taken a chance on Asian artists... and that's f'd up! I am part Asian myself, and I wish that Utada would've been one of the many talented singers to help wake up the closed-minded idiots in the U.S... that Asian artists are just as marketable, AND as talented and beautiful... AND that they too can be successful pop artists in the U.S.

I have heard Utada's single, and have thought that it was such an improvement over all of her songs on her last American album. That album was an embarrassment. But her new single is definitely marketable, and I even know of several college students at the university I go to (white, Asian, Indian, Mexican, Black) who all enjoy Utada's new song. It's marketable, NOT boring, and sadly, just because she's Asian, she won't be given any radio play or promotion as a pop artist.
