It's a tie for me, but the version with Patti & Yutaka has indeed a great atmosphere. That 70's sound has a special vibe which appeals to me. Like an era long lost to reminisce about, lol. I've had that Yutaka album since the early 90's and was hyped when i eventually found it. That album was just harder to find during the pre-internet years. so i bought that US-press, not knowing yet that there excisted also a Japanese version of that same album with total different artwork. Found out about that later online, lol. I taped the "Love Light"-duet on a few compilation-cassettes back in the day. Wasn't there also recently a compilation released of Phyllis Hyman with outtakes ? [Edited 2/14/09 15:07pm]

Has the Yutaka album been released on cd?

SunnySkies said: Do you mean the "in between the heartaches" cd by Phyllis? Yes ! That's the one. I remember something about it because i've read that it contains a fave song of mine, called "Love Surrounds Us Everywhere", which originally appears on the album "Looking Out" (1982) by jazzpianist McOy Tyner Sunnyskies said: Has the Yutaka album been released on cd? Yeah, in a limited quantity though, by a small company is my guess. Would be great if a Japanese remaster is reissued. I've heard quite some quality stuff coming from companies there.

Bless her I`ll buy anything that has her lovely voice on it, Phyllis was divine Yeah, her voice is something else. She sang with such deep emotion. There is or was some rare footage on youtube where she performs with a green outfit in a Blue Note Cafe. At one point during the show, a song hits her mind so deep that tears are flowing down her face while singing. It's so devastating how she suffered from depression
