Some faves
This footage is from their excellent dvd "Live In L.A.", which was only released on LP, CD & cassette around 1986. About 10 years after, this filmed stuff (from the same recording-night) finally got an official release, lol. There's a clear difference of sound in their studiowork and liveshows. In the studio, some of the recordings sound more laidback and i really dig most of their 70's work like the earlier posted "Golden Time"-project or "Inspiration". That mellowsoul sounds sweet. Onstage though, their energy is in full effect, and they have an unconditional following of fans through the decades, doing the electric slyde, lol. For all those lucky fans, the live-album of New Orleans from 1981 was filmed as well. That specific footage was first released around the 80's on Beta + VHS-tape. The dvd-reissue came out a decade or so later, like the L.A. show. Some clips from the New Orleans-gig : 1985 Got chills also when i saw them perform "Can't Stop The Love" live, back then. One more groove from their "We Are One"-album (1983) : [Edited 2/14/09 12:00pm] | |
