She is a result of great marketing. Had she kept the image that she had with, "Pon De Replay, I don't believe she would have lasted this long.

Although she's pretty, I'm not feeling her looks. She's never appealed to me.
Her voice - fingernails; the mic - chalkboard.
Get where I'm going there?
Pop fluff product with marginal singing ability and a horrid tone. Her tracks are her only saving grace and even those aren't great, just catchy.
Personality of a rice cake. I don't hate her or anything but if she went away, forever-ever-ever-eh-eh-eh I wouldn't be too upset.
That's about the extent of my opinion of Rihanna

And that is that!

I liked the Good Girl Gone Bad album (original edition) and her performance on the Glow In The Dark tour. But that era is pretty much over to me, and I'm waiting to be impressed again.

Yeah, not necessary, even though they became singles.

I hated her during "Pon De Replay" and didn't cop the album with "SOS" on it.

but I heard her sing acapella/freestyle during an interview in 2007 and it won me over.

yeah I think she can sing, but I only like her voice depending on the type of song she is doing

the A Girl Like Me album also has some nice tracks, I like Kisses Don't Lie and Cry a lot.

I think she has amazing style. She is a doll baby. Gorgeous.

She has a unique ANNOYING voice. after awhile its annoying.

I like her music in general. But i don't consider her a real artist. I don't consider myself a fan. Because i have to admire the person's work and their personality. Like how i admire and adore michael jackson. I love his work and his personality is amazing.

I don't care for rihanna's personality, its so plain. I like quirky, fun, humble, childish, shy, sweet, cute people.

I have nothing against her.

I just wish I *knew* why I can't stand any of her songs. I hear her voice and it makes me cringe.

I thought it was just me, but I guess some other orgers feel the same?

How come? What *is* it about her that makes your teeth crumble?

I like Rihanna. I think she's great for pop music and she's made some of the best songs in recent years. Even a lot of music she's featured on does well..(TI-Live Your Life). Her voice isn't the best but it's the uniquness of it, and her ability to emote, that brings her success.

Listen to her Question Existing.

You'd think she writes some of her slow song by her ability to get the feeling across. "Rehab" is another one that she emotes well on.

I also think her personality is cute.

I'm looking foward to more music from her.

I love rehab, it makes me cry for some weird reason when the harmonies come in at the chorus. Makes me think of some of the background music in mj's ghosts and even pastime paradise for some weird reason

and some of the melodies she sings really pump me up

"Rehab" is the only song I like by her. But that's really only because it's nearly identical in melody and harmony to "What Goes Around" by Justin Timberlake (which is one of three songs I actually like by him, LOL).

JT wrote it and that's him singing "now ladies gimme that" in the song.

some of the clips posted above have lead me to a couple interviews on youtube and it's interesting to hear how she fought so hard for not only "Umbrella" but "Disturbia". This confirms for me that she does have an ear for catchy material.

She wanted "Disturbia" on the next CD, but they wanted to milk GGGB some more. She isn't a songwriter or anything, but she has more say in her career than i thought.

The harmonies in Rehab are only the same scale as What Goes Around, and it has an F chord unlike What Goes Around

It's an awesome song though, I wish the video was as good, but it's alright.

Not really.
You don't go to a country and continuously remark about their "horrible weather" in interviews. What the heck can they do about their weather?

That's a strong sign of bitchiness in my opinion.

I don't see anything wrong with her comments about the weather. She, like I do, originally come from a country where the sun shine's most of the year. I have been to England many times and I hate the food. She seems a little "green" when it comes to giving interviews and I am sure, with time and more coaching, she will know better.

Shes thinking too hard and definitely trying to tone down her accent. Thats obvious. Besides that shes okay. I doubt thats the REAL her.

I think Rihanna is a great pop artist. Shes different and has great style. I enjoy her.
