I've got that "Chain" album on vinyl.

The fine print says that it was released in 1990, not in the '80s.

By the way, Prince dug this song too, he used it as background music to some video clip that he used to show at Glam Slam back in the day.

They were like an offshoot of Loose Ends. That song was the shit. That album was the lick. "I liked In Summer I Fall".

I've always thought that the guy who sings on Ghetto Heaven sounds very similar to St Paul Peterson from The Family. Maybe that's why Prince liked it so much.

Definitely 1990. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Nope. Sorry. Don't see it.
The Stand is a hardcore black rock band: singer, guitarist and drummer. I might have missed something but AFAIK there is no LE connection, but they could do back-up vocals.

No, no, no, not a "connection" but the same "vibe" as Loose Ends. "Offshoot" wasn't meant as "connection".

WKYS-93.9 FM used to pump this something fierce! Those were the days -- when you could find Donnie Simpson both there and on Video Soul...

I was nuts about this song.

As far as I know, they were from New York. Loose Ends were English and IMO are a much better group than The Family Stand.

And no one has mentioned that Sandra St. Victor came from this group.

I assumed everybody already knew that Sandra St Victor was in this group, which is why I didn't bring it up.

I have a few of their albums in my collection, as I already pointed out, I've got the "Chain" album on vinyl as well as "Connected" which....I think was released after SSV left the group - she's not on it.

And yeah, they were definitely a lot more rock based. Their "Moon In Scorpio" album put me right off, but if that's your bag, then....cool.

I'm not 100% sure of this but The FAmily Stand are all from the US but the song Ghetto Heaven was remixed in London by Soul II Soul ...in 1990 but I think it had been out in 1989 cool

Here in the USA, the album and the single were released in 1990.
