"I Am Legend" was a weird-ass movie. He was crying in almost every scene. "WHERE IS EVERYBODY!?!" falloff

Crying in EVERY scene in I Am Legend?

Aside from the fact that it's completely realistic for the last man in New York whose not only watched his fellow people either become rabid zombies or be eaten by said zombies but ALSO watched his wife and young daughter die horrifically because he was trying to get them to safety, to cry a lot but he cries maybe a total of twice in that movie?

* When his dog, his only friend, dies

* When his family dies

Why are people making fun of this? Perpetuating that stupid stereotype that a man isn't a man unless he's emotionless.

Exactly! That's a tough day at the office for sure. Nothing wrong with his performance in that, the first hour is great. loved the alternative ending too.

I think he's improving as an actor, strange his best performance was awhile back and strange nobody mentioned it so far, 'Ali'. cool

What more can you ask from him? Shouldn't we be celebrating that a actor of color occupies this position?

I can ask him to disapper, along with his annoying "wife", and their annoying friends, Tom Cruise and his beard Katie Holmes.

I don't care if he's black like me, I'm not supporting his films if, IMO, he sucks.

He's SO extra in serious roles,,,,,the only time he seemed natural for me was in Pursuit Of Happiness.

And good god, don't get me started on that Ali shit disbelief that was a CALAMITY in eeeeevery sense of the word.

I am surprised by the dislike of Will also. The cat has some talent.
It seems that some people dislike some of his films and that dislike has transferred 2 him.

Well, i thought he was great in 'Ali'. I don't care what anyone says. Ali dug it himself, so that's all there is to it really.

I'm really surprised at all the dislike for Will. I thought people liked him or at least admired his rise to being one of the top actors in Hollywood.

For me, success is not something to be admired by itself, since success is not always based on merit. Surely we should all know that by now.

Will Smith is a wooden actor. He can be competent in undemanding roles where affability counts for more than chops (Men in Black, etc.), but he reeks more often than not.

I understand your point. The ONLY role where I thought he showed more than average skill as an actor was 6 Degress of Separation. That said, I still appreciate the guy as an actor. There are many different levels 2 being a skilled actor. Everyone cannot be at the top.

I think it's more along the intensity of the dislike as I know several people who literally can't stand him. stab He's not on my list of favorites but he doesn't bother me either. I never thought about not seeing a movie because he was in it. Usually, it's just that I have no interest in the plot or subject matter. Like the whole Men In Black series I can't be bothered with.

nod Thank you. We're now back on speaking terms. lol j/k.

Did you see Six Degrees of Separation? He was fucking awful! (which was a shame as it's a great script) And yes, he was punching above his weight (no pun intended) in Ali too. It's just another example of unqualified people being put in positions they shouldn't be and the public overlooking it because the person seems "likable" enough. Examples abound in politics, music, TV and all areas of public life.

whofarted Are you serious? He's the opposite of cool. It's precisely because he's so tame that he's so popular.

If cool means cheesing up to the camera and acting like the black Robin Williams, then I need to be a goofball then. cool lol

Morris Day should give Will a lesson on how to look cool. cool

Exactly and he seems to be a really good guy in real life.

nod

He is a very likeable person who seems to be a great guy in real life. He has a very positive energy about him and I like that.

Plus I enjoy his movies and IMHO he is not a bad actor at all.

Nice guy or not, I don't know why he's producing a remake of The Karate Kid aside from giving his son something to star in. lol

And anyone completely dismissing his music should dig further back than Getting Ziggy With It.

Yeah, with his last movie I think he was trying too hard to get an oscar. I didn't see Seven Pounds but heard it was a real tear jerker.

I saw it on bootleg at the hair salon and was MAD the whole time. He always has that "I'm bout to cry" look on his face with the quivering bottom lip. rolleyes

lol

OMG!! YES!!! That's exactly what I was saying! But nobody wanted to believe me! I was saying that he looked like he was holding in the world's biggest shit for 2 hours.
