Crying in EVERY scene in I Am Legend?
Aside from the fact that it's completely realistic for the last man in New York whose not only watched his fellow people either become rabid zombies or be eaten by said zombies but ALSO watched his wife and young daughter die horrifically because he was trying to get them to safety, to cry a lot but he cries maybe a total of twice in that movie? * When his dog, his only friend, dies * When his family dies Why are people making fun of this? Perpetuating that stupid stereotype that a man isn't a man unless he's emotionless. [Edited 2/10/09 21:46pm]

Nothing wrong with his performance in that, the first hour is great. loved the alternative ending too. I think he's improving as an actor, strange his best performance was awhile back and strange nobody mentioned it so far, 'Ali'.

I can ask him to disapper, along with his annoying "wife", and their annoying friends, Tom Cruise and his beard Katie Holmes. I don't care if he's black like me, I'm not supporting his films if, IMO, he sucks. [Edited 2/10/09 23:27pm]

I am surprised by the dislike of Will also. The cat has some talent.
It seems that some people dislike some of his films and that dislike has transferred 2 him.

For me, success is not something to be admired by itself, since success is not always based on merit. Surely we should all know that by now. Will Smith is a wooden actor. He can be competent in undemanding roles where affability counts for more than chops (Men in Black, etc.), but he reeks more often than not. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I'm surprised y'all surprised some folks don't like him. "He's a nice guy"... well yeah... he is. I'm more inclined to Forest, Samuel, Denzel, Angela, and 'em.

The ONLY role where I thought he showed more than average skill as an actor was 6 Degress of Separation. That said, I still appreciate the guy as an actor. There are many different levels 2 being a skilled actor. Everyone cannot be at the top.

He was fucking awful! (which was a shame as it's a great script) And yes, he was punching above his weight (no pun intended) in Ali too. It's just another example of unqualified people being put in positions they shouldn't be and the public overlooking it because the person seems "likable" enough. Examples abound in politics, music, TV and all areas of public life. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I'm more inclined to Forest, Samuel, Denzel, Angela, and 'em. I saw it on bootleg at the hair salon and was MAD the whole time. He always has that "I'm bout to cry" look on his face with the quivering bottom lip. OMG!! YES!!! That's exactly what I was saying! But nobody wanted to believe me! I was saying that he looked like he was holding in the world's biggest shit for 2 hours.
