All of Donna Summer's greatest hits are classic. None of Beyonce's hits can ever match those of The Queen of Disco.

She lost a lot of credibility back in the late 80's when she hooked up with Stock, Aitken and Waterman in the UK, purveyors of horrible, plastic, pop. I hated eveything they did and wondered what the hell she was doing.

I could never be a completist if i was that much in to her.

I'm aware of the love and (a lot of hate) thing that some UK music fans had for the production skills of Stock Aitken Waterman back in the 80's. But the dance tracks they made for Donna (like for Kylie Minogue & Rick Aisley beforehand) were positive, uptempo, and entertaining to my ears. And SAW also used Linn Drums, a real drum machine that hits HARD like a drum machine is suppose to.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with the 'Another Time And Place' album. It was exactly the type of synth-pop that Donna needed to be making in the 80s.Her two previous 80s albums were inconsistent but 'Another Place In Time' found her going back to her roots somewhat.

Exactly. The stuff on that album especially with "This Time I Know It's For Real" help to give Donna back the popularity she lost after 1980, well technically after 1983 since "She Works Hard for the Money" was her biggest hit in years after "Wanderer".

Bad girl, sad girl:( A co-worker let me borrow Beyonce's latest cd. I only liked one song on the cd. But,ofcourse, that's just me. Isn't it all opinions anyway? Beyonce has a strong voice, but so does Donna Summer. I'd say Donna's is stronger. Beyonce would likely do a lot of runs, which is not something Donna usually does. I would love a celebrity idol. LOL. Between the two, Donna's is more versatile. When I first heard The Wanderer on the radio, I did not recognize her. It's one of the things I like about her. Sure, I like artist who sound the same vocally. Most of them do. However, Donna rises above them to me, in my book, just because she doesn't always sound the same or do the same genre of music on one cd...for the most part.
