Jamie Foxx talks about the atmosphere inside Clive Davis’ party and about the success of his latest album. Plus, what did Jamie have to say about his recent talk with friend Jennifer Hudson?

I do not think he is funny, but instead ghetto ignorant, and as far as singing, I unfortunately purchased his cd UNPREDICTABLE, and played it once and now can't give it away, no one wants it.
He was much better when he played on IN LIVING COLOR and was in true character as the queen that he is.

JF is an excellent singer, unfortunately he doesn't put out good music to back up his singing. He'd be better off singing at weddings, etc. He is very funny, though, and it seems he has a big fan base, especially RnBamassador....

i like his style when it comes to comedy, especialy when he does his voices that he did much in that show he was in , the jamie foxx show? as for his music i think he has a decent voice and he could do nice music with a piano but ... he rarely shows that side

Jamie has sold out 2 that hip-hop sh*t. He really can sing well but u would never know it based on his last 2 music projects.

I don't agree with u on your "Excellent singer" statement.

We had this discussion when his latest album came out, he is just an OK singer. He is someone that can carry a tune, but not a good singer. His 2 J Records albums have been horrible. He is all out of tune and sounds as if he is singing through his throat. Jamie is better as a musician than singer.

I, however, do think that he should abandon the "hip hop" crap and try to stick to doing mature music (if he insists on releasing cds). I have a hard time listening to a 41 year old man saying how he's going to sing a woman out of her draws. If he was singing to her while making love, I have no problem with that, but the immature references are horrible.

Much better actor. Unpredictable was garbage as well as this new
project. His first album that included the single infatuation was okay
but nothing to dig through the bargain bins for.

I thought of you when this thread popped up thinking 'didn't we just have a discussion on Jamie and his vocal skills or lack thereof?' lol

After watching him on the Grammy's last night, it confirmed my beliefs that he was HORRIBLE.

I know. This has to be the worst Grammy Awards in the last 10 or so years. The performances were mediocre. Not to mention M.I.A.

This dude was hilarious back in the day and I used to really love his sitcom "The Jamie Foxx Show."

However, the "musical" elements that he would include would pretty much always put me off.

I mean, it was cool that he had folks such as Gerald LeVert, Mary J Blige, KC & Jojo, Gladys Knight and even Ice Cube and Westside Connection guest starring in a few episodes, but everytime he would burst into song I would just go disbelief

Cuz it was a SITCOM, not a bloody well singalong. doh!

I understand that he sings and plays intruments too, but come on, mate....be funny! lol

Jamie can get, as they say on AI, "pitchy". His singing is average, but his musicianship is strong (you would never know it from his CDs, though). He just seems too old for the music he pumps out but cares too much about charting on the hot 100.

I find it funny that he seems most impressive musically when he's imitating Prince, Luther, Ray Charles etc. But when he starts singing his own songs, I keep waiting for the punchline. Maybe he should just put out a comedy CD of musical parodies instead of trying to be a "real" singer. Just a thought...
