But just speaking as a straight guy, I can't quite get turned on by these pictures as I would have if she'd done them twenty years ago. There's A LOT of photoshop at work and Madonna's fake cheeks and botox-frozen face are a bit of a turn off. I also remember the criticism Janet got a few years ago when she was doing these hyper-sexual photos. People were saying they were disappointed that she had nothing else to offer. We've seen Madonna do all this stuff before, so it's hard to see what the point of coming back to it after all these years is. She was supposed to have had a spiritual transformation, remember that?  It seems like the demands of her ego have put that aside for the moment. She's 50 and clearly quite bitter about her ex-husband. All of this seems to be Madonna trying to re-assert that she's still sexually attractive. The idea of an older lady exerting her power and influence to basically get some hot young guys is a good (and realistic) one, but i think they should have left her wrinkles alone. I understand to not photoshop is unaccaeptable in these kind of shoots nowadays, but i think considering they've gone for a more candid style - it would ahve made sense. I still lvoe the shoot though. As for janet - her hyper sexual stuff was boring because it was practically the 3rd album in a row of breathy slow ballads & photos of her in bed sheets - its a little tireseome. Just as people are sick of seeing madonnas crotch - people were sick of janet in those nasty old bed sheets. | |
