Small world, I was at the same show soulalive was at the Circle Star.My first concert was BERLIN at Great America in 1984.Since 1985,I been to every Prince show in the Bay Area including the Warfield hit and run shows in 1986.Seen all of Madonnas shows since 1985 when her virgin tour was at the civic center in San Francisco.I still have my tickets stubs.

I remember these shows were announced on KSOL,the tickets went on sale that morning, and the show happened that same evening!! It was crazy! Fans had to scramble to get tickets, make arrangements, etc.I guess that's why he called it the "Hit and Run" tour, huh?

No,the SOTT tour never made it to America, which is sad.I think it was one of Prince's best tours (based on the concert film).

I didn't go to this show, but I remember my friend saying that she wanted a concert T-shirt from this tour. The reason? The shirt says "The Virgin Tour" on the back, and my friend was trying to make a statement....lol....she was a virgin at the time and wanted to show that it's a cool thing to be,lol.

Anyway....I wasn't really a big Madonna fan at that point.I became a huge fan later in the 80s.My first Madonna concert was the Blonde Ambition show at the Oakland Coliseum in May 1990.When I saw her,"Vogue" was the Number One song in America.I haven't missed a Bay Area Madonna concert since.

Does anyone remember how much fun it was to "camp out" for concert tickets? I have so many fond memories of doing this in the 80s and early 90s (before the Internet came along).

I remember dialing over and over and over

and hearing horror stories about the first ones in line to camp out got assigned a number to a line up anyway!

I don't have the stub, but the first concert I ever went to was America in 1974.

I saw Foreigner, too. I think that was in '75.

It was brought to my attention, but I saw him in the flesh anyway. Maybe it was either Lovesexy or even Parade. Kinda wish I had the ticket. Thanks.

That's cool. You saw an artist that died way before her time.

The Prince and Janet stubs I initially kept in the programs I bought for those tours, but the Lisa Lisa one there wasn't any program for that show so I don't know how I held onto that stub the first few years. Now I keep all my stubs together in a huge stack.

Your Lovesexy ticket looks nothing like mine. Mine is the picture of the album cover and the ticket is pretty big for a ticket and has the shape of his body. It looks really cool.

I was so pissed when I had a nice ticket for a Prince show in Zürich and they took it away when we went in. If I would have known before I would have copied it to add it to my collection of all my Prince tickets/invitations. The only other ones I don't have anymore are to some aftershow gigs when there were no tickets.
