I don't have the ticket stub, but here's an old concert that I remember going to:

Ready For The World
The Jets
Doug E.Fresh featuring Slick Rick

March 1986 at the Circle Star Theatre
lol

to those of you in the Bay Area,I know you remember that place, where the stage rotates round and round.

I think I still have my stubs from these two concerts somewhere.

The oldest stub I have is Rick James (with Cameo and One Way), Oakland Coliseum August ? 1982.

My oldest Prince stub is from early 1983 from the 1999 tour at the Oakland Coliseum. Got lucky at this concert...the Time and Vanity 6 performed. The concerts just before Oakland in LA, the Time did not perform.

I was also at Lovesexy in Oakland. I went the first night but wanted to do both.

Lovesexy in Oakland was DA BOMB! lol The Bay Area was/is one of Prince's strongest markets. He was having problems selling out shows in other cities, but the two Oakland shows sold out with no problem. In addition to those two shows,he also performed an aftershow at some small club.

Well, damn...sue me. lol It was a long time ago, and all I know is I remember seeing Prince open for Rick on the Fire It Up tour. Rick was throwing "joints" into the audience and they were throwing them on stage at him. I saw Rick many times so forgive me if I can't remember exactly which was which. I was probably high. weed It was still the best concert I have ever seen. woot!

I know exactly what you mean. Some of the concerts I went to were 20 or 25 years ago. So if I am off on an exact date or venue big deal.

Hell Prince alone I have seen at the Oakland Coliseum/Arena (several times), Cow Palace in SF, San Jose State Event center, HP pavilion in San Jose (several times), The Fillmore in SF, Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Concord Pavilion, etc.....on 7 or 8 different tours over a span of like 25 years.

Did you see Prince in SF in 1993 on the 'Act 1' tour? He did two shows at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

I was at the two San Jose State Event Center shows in 1997.It was general admission,so for the 1st show,I was able to grab a FRONT ROW spot. This would have been unheard of in the 80s.

No, unfortunately I missed the Act 1 tour.

I only made it to one show (the first one I think) at the SJS Event Center. I remember it being general admission but by the time we got there the floor was pretty much filled so we sat up in the seats.

All my old stubs are still at my parents' house in my old room growing up.

If I remember correctly, I had a tie between two concerts for oldest stub, I believe it was Prince's 1999 Tour and then The Count Basie Band smile

but I've been to every show he's done in San Jose.

Nah the closest would have been 2 shows in July 1986 or 2 again in October 1988.

Again, I lost the ticket and I went with friends. He definitely played at the MSG after "Purple Rain".

That's a pic from the Somewhere Back In Time Tour from last year.
You can tell cos Janick Gers is in the photo...

They went back to the whole "Powerslave" era stage set, so it's an easy mistake...

Sorry, geek alert..

*gets coat*

My first ever gig was Simple Minds at Wembley Stadium, August 1989. Support was Gun, The Silencers (yes, very funny, whoever put those two on the bill...) and Texas, who had just had a hit with I Don't Want A Lover off their first album.

No one is disputing that Prince played at MSG post 1985. You might be thinking of the Lovesexy shows in 88.
