80s pop song of the day: "Things Can Only Get Better" by Howard Jones (1985)

Who remembers this bright, cheerful mid-80s song with its memorable hook ("whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa")? lol

You gotta love those 80s lol

I just heard this song recently, and was reminded that he wrote some really good pop fluff, like What is Love.

Really well crafted songs, and though they sound incredibly 80's, they still sound good.

As far as walking around school, it's according to if it was early 1985 or late 1985. I graduated in May of that year and if I remember correctly, I think I heard that song for the first time after I graduated. I remember that year well because the first part of 1985 was pretty good but things got horrible after I graduated. Little miss you-know-who came out that summer so you know I can't forget that year. Oh well, at least she waited till after I graduated so she couldn't ruin my senior year. lol

It peaked at #5 on the Hot 100 and #6 in the UK. Only "No One Is to Blame" (#4 also in '85) surpassed it here.

yup! I have the 12" too. A good long version.
The other HJ song I liked was Life In One Day.
