I guess talent is so lacking in music nowadays that they need to spread people thin.

Actually, the lameness of the performances thus far is actually giving me more appreciation for Justin. Uh oh!

I don't think the Grammys have had so many multiple performers.

That's the point. They got into a fight after the party allegedly. Rihanna's in the hospital right now as we speak.

disbelief Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo on stage with Smokey and Duke?!? WTF?

An all-star Motown tribute would've been cool: Duke and Smokey plus Otis (or Dennis) and G.C. (or something along those lines).

he may be a legend but he's never won shit or been nominated for shit. There are artists like rihanna or carrie underwood or whoever that have won and been nominated more than someone like him or even mccartney that actually create music. And sorry but theres plenty of Blues on that plant record, the kids in the rb today need to get slapped with some blues.

I didn't understand why it took Justin Timberfake and Boys III Men to help Al Green sing his own damn song??? What the hell was up with that?

Also, why Jamie Foxx flying all over the stage during the Four Tops tribute???

And why the hell won't Kanye cut his damn hair???? That Eddie Murphy "Coming To America" look is not winning over with me.

First, I'm not a Dude....second, no one said they had to be the Sex Pistols. They should stay on the freaking Disney Channel...not doing duets with great artist. That was a terrible idea and a terrible performance..timing and vocals were terrible!!! Sorry some people have musical standards. This whole freaking decade has been nothing but "fluff" acts getting A list attention and you can't escape it...sorry but I'm sick of it. If you like the Jonas Brothers good for you

biggrin

Apparantly, enough people disagreed with the notion the Jonas Bros. "should stay on the freaking Disney Channel" that they have made -- and will continue to make -- millions well beyond that venue. Next, while I certainly got no thrill seeing them desecrate Stevie's song (IMHO), Stevie himself thought enough of them to share a stage with them. You may want to take up discussion of standards with him. My guess is he'd school you.

And fluff? Eh, I'm no fan of it either. shrug But it certainly is nothing new... and it ain't going anywhere. Alongside sensible fare like Stevie, I personally would rather my 7-year-old enjoy, say, the Jonas Bros. than... ohhhh... T.I., Kanye, Jay-Z and Lil' Wayne... and an about-to-drop M.I.A.... just off the top of my head.

But then I understand others have higher standards than me. shrug
[Edited 2/8/09 19:09pm]

Come on..stop (muscial schooling rolleyes)...that duet had NOTHING TO DO with Stevie thinking they are some diamond in the rough up-start group who needs a break...You can bet Disney or the Grammys paid him a huge amount of money to do that performance. As much as I love Stevie for his past great body of work, Stevie doesn't care how his music is used or performed these days. He's lent his music to a burger comercial! He cares about getting paid these days (which is his right, he's paid his dues).

Hey I had the Muppet album, loved Kaptin Kool and the Kongs and the Hudson Brothers when I was a kid, but they stayed on the Saturday morning line up....they weren't being constantly shoved into our faces. It's great if your child loves the Jonas Brothers, there is ALOT of other types of non-rap music out there too, even if you have to go back or across the ocean. Look Neil Diamond is on...he's good! music

You can find it on TMZ (don't read the comments, they stupid), YBF.com (I think that's the name) and probably some other sites. Search for Chris Brown on Google... it's all over the news.

Horrible. A man should never abuse a woman like that. Emotionally or physically there is no excuse for this type of behaviour. Sad to see such young and talented kids behave this way. I hope Rihanna is alright. My prayers go out to both of them sad
