Now,come on Vainandy....at least Anita's music is soulful You can't accuse her of selling out to pop audiences. Hey, I never accused her of selling out. To the best of my knowledge, I don't think she even had one crossover hit. I simply said her music was duller than Shitney's, that's all. I know you prefer music that's funkier and more uptempo but when it comes to slow jams,'Rapture' can't be beat.
Try The Stylistics, Blue Magic, Heatwave, Switch, Enchantment, Norman Conners for starters. And then there's the endless funk groups that had a slow jam or two on their albums. Their slow jams had a totally different sexy after midnight feel than Anita's. Their slow jams sounded like the kind to listen with a stranger that you brought home to have sex with. Anita's sounded like something you listen to on a dull bright and sunny Sunday afternoon with your family. Andy is a four letter word. | |
