Download now! Sweet 1970s Soul Special!! On our radio show Midnight Soulstice, we laid out the deepest Soul tearjerkers of the 1960s to y'all last week (thanks as usual for the great feedback). Tonight, we want to take it to the next step and move into the next decade. Sweet Soul of the 1970s is the motto of this show, and as usual, it's a broad spectrum that needs to be covered. We won't limit our sets to the male vocal groups usually associated with this description, but we'll throw in a few mellow disco grooves and some great ballads by the sisters, whom we do not want to leave out here. There'll be some hits and some songs you probably have never heard before, so we hope you'll enjoy this one and get mellow!
We hope you'll tune in tonight - 11pm - 1am Eastern Time on www.wrir.org You know Funkenstein is gonna drool all over this one! Some of the tracks that you'll get to hear ... Flowers - For real (LAX) Bobby Reed - The time is right for Love (Bell) The Notations - Do you have the time (Gemigo) Dee Edwards - I can deal with that (De-To) 100% Pure Poison - You keep coming back (EMI) [Edited 2/6/09 20:03pm] [Edited 2/6/09 21:52pm] [Edited 2/7/09 9:25am]

Of course I got the New Birth, Tyrone Davis and the Love Unlimited, but don't know the other ones. The Love Unlimited one is a great choice, but I was thinking about playing their version of Move me no Mountain.

Can't wait to download this, and see what cuts you picked
Oh by the way, the Notations cut you posted, is not a Notations cut. The Notations never recorded 'Do You Have The Time?'. It was done by The Younghearts in 1972. I have been kinda, uhm, preoccupied lately, so I totally missed out on giving you suggestion for the show. Ah well, maybe next time It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
