Now you are really taking me back to my whoring era. I used to go the club around midnight, find some dick, have it in the parking lot (while hearing this song thumping from inside the club), then go back inside afterwards and party till 4:30 or 5:00 in the morning, all the while looking for a second dick (sometimes a third dick). Oh, what a whore I was. lol

I used to have the cassette maxi single of this song and had some very nice extended versions, and I will always love this song

BUT!!! it is basically a slick version of a (relatively underground) hit for hip hop:
Main Source - Looking At The Front Door!!!!!

My favorite element of Let The Beat Hit Em is the 2 bar guitar riff from "Hit On You" by Roundtree (1982 Paradise Garage schitt)

you can hear it best on this youtube at 6:20

And that is something that was not in Main Source's beat but it fits perfectly.

Sounds like me at the Paradise Garage, (minus the looking for dick). C&C were great remixers and this was one of their best!!.

Lisa Lisa looked like a cross between Paula Abdul and Vanity. What was the name of that sitcom that she starred in with Christina Vidal? I used to enjoy that.

Anyway, I love this song. I fell out of love with it briefly a few years ago, but it came back.
