So basically it boils down to talent and conceitedness/over-confidence. People I know don't think Rhianna is a great singer so if she were doing what Beyonce was doing, everyone would have the same feeling about her then right?
At some point when Ciara and Rhianna came on the scene, didn't people basically tell Beyonce she had some serious comp and that her career was in danger? Is that when she started trying to be on everything? When you look at somebody like Usher, younger guys came in like .. Chris Brown and Ne-Yo. They called Usher the old man or the old uncle on the block. He probably didn't even think to bow out and leave but to fight it out and get on everything he could. Is she hustling or over doing it? Life in show biz don't last too long for most so I wonder what she should do to stay in the game longer? Should she do exactly what she's doing now or change and take a risk? What should others singers and entertainers do?

Me personally, I think Beyonce` needs to take a break. Have people miss you. It's hard to do that when you have CDs back to back or everywhere people turn around they see you in a makeup commercial, hair dye commercial, credit card commercial, music videos and movies. I think that's why people are getting tired of her. She needs to take two or three years off, reinvent herself and come back with original material that separates itself from her past albums, IMHO.

Yes girl I was thinkin the same thing. I hope she takes that advise.
thumbs up!

Actually, that ain't a lie. My brother and my mother was born with blond, curly hair. They were VERY light-skinned though, much like Etta James, Beyonce AND Florence Ballard, all three of them had blond hair. Why do you think Flo's nickname was "Blondie"? lol

Not technically. My grandpa and grandpa were black but we have a multi-ethnic background (my great-grandma was Cherokee, Irish and African and was light as I don't know what but she was darker than the rest of her family). I'm not like Beyonce though, who makes it a big deal about her being "Creole". My momma always said she's black. My dad always told her she's the only one he knows in his life that wants to be black while everyone else wanna be something else. lol In my family, we always have this saying: "no matter what lineage you have or what you prefer to call yourself, you're still a n****r to them." lol Weird thing is I have three aunts and an uncle. My uncle and my three aunts were darker than my momma and she looks more like my great-grandma than the rest of them. People always say I look like my uncle. lol

The reason I do not like her is due to the over exposure and it is not warranted. She is not the finest chick on earth, being with Jay-Z shows she is a hoe; she does not have the greatest voice ever, she over runs and over does everything; the flat-chested Texas fake needs to go sit down somewhere.
She and her domidadder ruined the other girls in Destiny's Child. If you look at the name of the group, it was never plural, it was always about Beyonce`.
I agree that she is everything that is wrong with the music business. Overhype, too much, excess and all that shit. I do not buy her records, did not see her movies and when she comes on, I turn the wench off. I will be glad when Aretha and Etta beat her ass down, LOL. Disappear already hoe. I am so tired of this bow-legged heffa always flossing to be apart of everything. When Jay-Z beat that ass one day real good, and I don;t mean sexually, I mean like Ike beat Tina and Ted beat Aretha, that is when we will get the best out of Miss Knowles.

For those that have taken offense, I was being 'tongue-in-cheek' about her being beaten. I do not advocate violence from anyone. I hate the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I hate the high volume of violent Black on Black crime, and I really hate that Ike beat Tina, Ted beat Aretha and that Chris Brown has beaten Robyn Rihanna Fenty; but I still don't like Beyonce'.

Both of y'all right.

You have to blame her management after 2003-2004 she lost something i don't known what it is but she became boring...she just did not open up as an artist ...but the hype around her grew too big...she's a nice girl just needs to shake up the management around her.. wink

Yes, she is at the point where she can't do anything right. She is very full of herself, and very diva-like in her mentality. She is not as talented as she believes that she is, and it is hard to like someone so arrogant. She tends to oversing, and I hope she goes away. SOON.

Just thought I'd add... there are naturally blond black people that I have met although they tend to be pretty light.

Beyonce's natural hair colour is black. In the BTM special, I remember them showing pictures of her as a child and her hair was black.

I think people just can't stand her because of overexposure and because she appears to be a complete idiot in interviews.

But remember when J-Lo was the "it" girl at the time? She sang "Jenny From The Block". At least that song was more modest than "Diva". I see most of her style in Beyonce and it is known that she wants to be Latina.

Why do people hate/cant stand Beyonce? Basically it all boils down to this: people are sick of her. She is overexposed, overhyped and has been on overkill for the past few years and people are suffering from serious Beyonce fatigue--folks have just about OD'd on her. She is everywhere, constantly promoting herself, pushing herself into the limelight...yes daddy Knowles is a big part of constantly putting her out there but at this point, she is a grown, almost 30year old married woman, she can make decisions for herself and she's not doing anything that she doesnt want to do, regardless of whether daddy made the deal for her or not. She herself is very ambitious, driven and determined to make herself be the "icon" she so desperately wants to be.

Its her constantly being out there, making herself a part of every high-profile event, over-promotion of her cds, movies, or whatever she has out at the time, taking credit for writing songs when she really didnt write them, constantly being in the spotlight...this is why people are fed up with her and want her to go away. People dont like overexposed people period. It doesnt matter if you have talent like Beyonce, or no talent like Paris Hilton--if we constantly see and hear a certain person dominate the media all the time, we get sick of them, and thats when the "hate" starts pouring in.

And its not like Beyonce is the only case of being the overexposed and much hated entertainer---I've seen this happen to several others before as well:

Madonna
Mariah Carey
Janet Jackson
Britney Spears
J-Lo

Beyonce is just the latest entertainer to be added to this list but I remember when each of those other ladies was the one during the height of their fame and careers who were overrated, over-exposed and had a lot of hype AND hate coming at them. And those who get all upset over the hate against Beyonce need to realize a couple things: 1. The hate for isnt because people are jealous of her, its just that they're tired of her being shoved down their throats all the time. and 2. She isnt the first entertainer to be overexposed and bashed because of it--and she certainly wont be the last one either.

At least those artist brought it with every album except of course B.Spears and J.lo. I was sooooo happy when she said that she was releasing an album that was more her and deep. And then

IF YOU LIKE IT, YOU SHOULD PUT A COCK ON IT came out! brick

It as if she saying whatever i put out my Stans will buy it cause i'm queen Buttface kind of what madonna is doing.shrug But she old and not part of this era, so i don't care.

I can tell that Camel-z is in the studio with her cause those songs she got sounds like him shoot Diva & Ego Scearms Kanye West & Jigga.

She has so much money, She can hire some underground writers and give up her writing credit cause we already know she is part of the late 90's Man-Hating No scrubs era. barf

I find Rhianna to be more annoying the only good song she has done is "don't stop the music" - everything else is pure crap.

I think "if i were a boy", "dangerously in love", "crazy in love", "irreplacable" and "me myself and I" are good songs - it's just that Beyonce is everywhere which is overkill - like how J-LO was in the late 90s.

No she isn't. Not from what I see anyway. I think she is naturally the exact opposite. If she is speaking offstage like a "diva," she seems to be poorly emulating a false character that someone has advised her to pretend to be (and no, I'm not referring to "Sasha."). Sure she shows extreme confidence onstage (mainly because she is very good live and experienced), but when she is not performing, Beyonce has a believable humble and almost sad/not fully secure spirit, which is becoming more and more obvious in her eyes now.

In terms of her competitors, the ones who I think have the arrogant mentalities regarding their music and/or status are Rihanna, and even Beyonce's sister Solange.

The first two are song titles. And most musical artists claim "they are what they write or produce," but I don't always believe them, especially if they're commercial artists whose attitudes offstage greatly contradict their song lyrics. For example, a homosexual male singer can perform songs he's written about romantic love for women to appeal to a female audience (and tell people those songs are "him"), but in real life he only loves men. I think it's like that with Beyonce, who is the "hottest chick" in her music, but is a seemingly an "insecure woman" at home.

This is just my analysis.
