I found this guy called Avipaul on the We7 funk chart:

His name is Avipaul and the music is kinda funky... with an Indian twist!

I particularly like the track "This Dhol Will Make You Dance". Love the mix of the heavy percussion with the funk.

Sounds like Prince is one of his influences...
