Love the track musically.
Always thought it would have been just as good without the... ...Goofy Genie character. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I've seen good talk about Open Sesame on here I'll start with the one posted here I recently bought a sealed vinyl copy from Ebay. It's a good album overall, but I was slightly disappointed that it doesn't include the long 8-minute version of the title track. It only includes a short, single version. The album is more mellow than you would expect....there's not alot of hard, gritty funk here. The entire album is on Youtube... The first time I heard that song was in "Saturday Night Fever" but I never knew who sang it. Great song though, I can't help but want to dance whenever I hear it . "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

That's the first time I heard it too.....on Side Three of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack It was released as a single a year earlier (1976) but really got alot of attention when it was featured in the film.

For me, K&TG has always been my favorite band after Sly and The Family Stone. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Help me wake them up.Let's see some of your threads! I'm so burned out, I can't think of anything to start a thread on that I haven't already done. I know there is plenty out there but I just can't think of them. I've been getting the same way lately when I get ready to play some music. I look at all my records and CDs and I don't know where to start on what I want to play that I haven't played in a while. And then I just stand back and look at the collection and just don't know where to start. I guess the word would be "overwhelmed". I always knew where to start back in the day because I was always playing the latest jams and would slip in an old jam every now and then that I was feeling. That's easy when you are dealing with new jams because there are only so many. But since there are no good new jams anymore and I have to depend strictly on old jams only, there are so many, I don't know where to start and then I feel like repeating some that I've already done before. Well, another thing, I can think of a ton of stuff that I haven't done threads on but I don't think anyone else would have ever heard them. "Bedrock" by Glass, "Ray-Gun-Omics" by Project Future, and "Nunk (New Wave Funk)" by Warp 9 immediately come to mind but I bet most folks don't remember them. . . . [Edited 1/30/09 14:13pm] Andy is a four letter word.

Since you know so many rare jams,I wonder if you can help me identify these two old songs.... ***The first one is from early 1983 and it's called "Your Mama".It sounds like the Gap Band but it's not them. It's a really silly "diss" song.... your mama!....that's right,I said your mama! ***The second song is from 1981 or 1982....a funk jam in which the singer has an electronic,Zapp-like voice. He's singing about a woman that he admires....how he likes how she moves, etc. He's got that Roger-electronic voice.

That one was a rap record called "Ya Mama" by Wuff Ticket. As far as I know there was no album. It was strictly a 12 Inch single. ***The second song is from 1981 or 1982....a funk jam in which the singer has an electronic,Zapp-like voice. He's singing about a woman that he admires....how he likes how she moves, etc. He's got that Roger-electronic voice.
Sounds familiar. Describe it a little more if you can. . . . [Edited 2/3/09 6:41am] Andy is a four letter word.

Your mama lives in a tree, she eats coconuts And your whole family's got buffalo butts My mama's pretty, she's a star When it comes to style, she's the best by far My mama's a teacher and she's the best I bet your mama couldn't pass her test Did anybody ever tell you that your mama looks like Big Bird from Sesame Street Oh yeah, well your mama's a smurf Your sister's a smurf Your brother's a smurf That record is about 7 minutes and they go on and on insulting each other's mama. Sounds familiar. Describe it a little more if you can. If I remember correctly,it was out around the same time as "Pull/Fancy Dancer" by One Way.It's about the same tempo as that song, too.
