It looks like the first one was inspired by Alicia Keys.

I don't get the first hairstyle, unless it is supposed to be a scene where she is braiding her hair, but her hair is naturally curly. I'm surprised that she is going out like that, because she has been straightening her hair since the middle of 1993.

And he isn't doing just ONE of her videos.. he actually has directed before which is scary and MTV gave him "production" $$ for that awful wildn out show which only had one good thing on it and that was Daphne Joy (one of the dancers). But oustide of that, he sucks as a director, crappy video concepts, routine shit, but would i expect more from a dumbass like him. I wouldn't quite say that yet. "I Stay In Love" wasn't actually that bad of a video, but she put out that whole subpar E=MC2 album just before she had any chance to fall head over heels for Nick Cannon. We'll see what happens a year from now. (BTW, didn't her deal with Def Jam expire after she released E=MC2? Is she planning to sign a new contract with Def Jam or is she going to get some other deal with Live Nation or some other group?) | |

Is that right? Despite my love for mariah, if i was def-jam i would cut her loose at this point. Mainly because she is creeping in on 40, sales are down, she is going to demand much $$$$ because she did bring them alot of revenue with mimi. And i really dont see her warranting a big contract at this point, she wont go indie mainly because she doesnt have the know-how to do that kind of business at all. She needs a career make over, and i dont see a label really wanting to be patient with that, its starting to look really silly now with her in these crappy videos with crappy guest rappers doing crappier music. tru tru i mean she always has that to fall back on if all else fails and her experimentations fall flat. some artists just can't compete with that level of pr. mariah will always continue to experiment, there are countless artists and producers she has yet to mingle with, and if she's half-winning or creating as good as a buzz as she has been, then stay with it. once the baby pops out then maybe regress to that image and then maybe afterwards test the waters once again. it worked for nelly furtado, madonna and even cher. | |

The pics look cute. I think Mariah CAN pull off the youngster look. It's all about whats in your spirit when done right. Some artists look foolish trying to look or act 20 years younger with the most hideous getup (insert names here if you'd like).
