I saw it long before Jay posted it. SW wrote this song in 1969... I like Minnie's version but this nice rendition is cool. SW has a way singing "perfect", haha.

Also that new middle is nice.

goodness, this bring back memories.

I was about 6, when I heard (through Soul Train -- possibly this episode. I'm not sure) Minnie Ripperton had passed. My mom confirmed it, and it saddened me. The concept of someone whose music touched me dying had been a foreign concept to me til then.

She was very well known in the R&B community, she had more hits on there than she did on the pop chart. She's more of an influence in general tho.
