That's The Way Of The World---How many of you have seen this 1975 movie starring Earth Wind & Fire?

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Earth Wind & Fire's 1975 album 'That's The Way Of The World',which was a huge success that spawned several big hits like "Shining Star","Reasons" and the title track. But did you know that it is a movie soundtrack? The movie is a mystery to most people because it was only in theatres for a short time.

The movie stars Harvey Keitel, who plays a record exec.He discovers Earth Wind and Fire and is planning to produce their album. The problem is,his bosses are more interested in a Carpenters-type singing group, and they want Harvey's character to produce THEIR album instead.Things get even more complicated when he begins an affair with the singing group's lead singer.

Meanwhile,Earth Wind & Fire keep rehearsing their new songs, but here's the crazy part...in the film, you only hear INSTRUMENTAL versions of their songs! Except for "Happy Feeling",which they perform at the very end. When watching this film,it is extremely frustrating to hear no vocals on songs like "Shining Star","Reasons","See The Light" and others.

Overall, the film is no masterpiece but it does give you a powerful look at how shady record companies can be (I wonder if Prince has ever seen this film?...lol).If you're an EW&F fan, this movie is a must-have.You get to see EW&F rehearsing several songs throughout and Maurice White even has a few lines. And,their performance of "Happy Feeling" is classic!

Are some of these instrumentals the bonus tracks on the TTWOTW remaster?
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

You know,I'm not sure if these are the same instrumentals.I'll have to watch the movie again, and then listen to the CD's bonus tracks.
